I have been job searching but stopped it temporarily as I did not get anything. Now this covid problem..
Noone knows when this will end.It may take months or even one or two years..I don't know how long to wait to resume job search.I do understand many are unemployed but my job search is not in IT or something big but just something basic,an intern, admin types..Is this a right time to search coz I really do not know how long to wait also..I have updated myself with many short courses.

there are small jobs open still. If you have a skill that you can teach, I keep seeing many in urbanpro popping up.
amazon jobs has opened up 20k temp jobs for customer service.

So, keep searching, dont stop. I say this to myself while I tell this to you too.

Not sure if this is a good time in terms of finding a job, but if it were me I would relax and put it off until schools reopen, as finding childcare during this time would be hard.
    Good luck with your search.

    Hi Anika! :)

Regarding getting back in to job search now during Covid, I can see a couple of good pros and just one con.

    Cons:
    - Some teams within companies are in hiring freeze so might be a little harder to find a vacancy. (but please don't let this deter you, I know 3 friends who have got job offers in the last 2 months alone. So business is as usual is many sectors.)

    Pros:
    - Many companies/firms are willing to accept employees who will work remotely during the current conditions.
(so that they can maintain their office spaces for essential staff only). This might work well for you initially (to balance home/spouse's timings/commute-time savings/etc) Or it might be possible to make this request to your employer citing the current conditions.

    - With spouse (possibly working from home?) and kid on possibly lighter "summer schedule" (rather than full-time school and extra-curricular activity schedule requiring mother to do pickups/drop offs) it might be possible to have spouse+kid to handle household chores a bit - while you focus on job or job-search.

    - Even interviews would be mostly remote making it easier on your spouse who will have to cover child-care for interview time only rather than interview+commute.

    All the very best!
