Hi All, My son will be 3 years old next month. The problem is he is constipated and I have observed there is some phobia because of which he is holding back his poop .He just comes and sits on us when he feels to poop and holds back. This is happening from past 2 weeks. He is potty trained and he himself used to pee and potty before. From 2 weeks he is holding is poo. Can anyone suggest if I can make some changes in his diet or is there any way to ease. I haven't taken him to doctor because of the current lockdown situation.
Also reduce cheeses or paneer until issue is resolved. Grape juice and plenty of fluids will help as well. My neice had this issue, she would cry trying to go to toilet. So sad. It's very important that he goes soon. You should at least call your pediatrician for recommendations -2 weeks is too long he can get very sick if it continues.
Sorry,2weeks back thesthe constipation started..and it goes once in 4 days.i have stopped all dairy products...thanks
@Ammooty i think ur kid is constipated and holding back. It happened same way w mine. I was giving lot of paneer and made him so constipated and was fearing to go. Waited for two days and have tried otc glycerine pedialax and it worked v well. It happened earlier same way when we joined him pre k and was holding. After checking w pediatric she suggested to do this and give prunes and food w fiber. And we do this only at worst case. Otherwise follow the home remedies as much and always watxh on food they eat. Try Rasam, and more liquids.
