One sunny day in 2008, an old man approached the White House from across Pennsylvania Avenue, where he'd been sitting on a park bench.

He spoke to the Marine standing guard and said, "I would like to go in and meet with President Hillary Clinton."

The Marine replied, "Sir, Mrs. Clinton is not President and doesn't reside here."
The old man said, "Okay," and walked away.

The following day, the same man approached the White House and said to the same Marine, "I would like to go in and meet with President Hillary Clinton".

The Marine again told the man, "Sir, as I said yesterday, Mrs. Clinton is not President and doesn't reside here."

The man thanked him and again walked away .

The third day, the same man approached the White House and spoke to the very same Marine, saying "I would like to go in and meet with President Hillary Clinton."

The Marine, understandably agitated at this point, looked at the man and said, "Sir, this is the third day in a row you have been here asking to speak to Mrs. Clinton. I've told you already several times that Mrs.Clinton is not the President and doesn't reside here. Don't you understand?"

The old man answered, "Oh, I understand you fine. I just love hearing your answer!"

The Marine snapped to attention, saluted, and said,"See you tomorrow.

Ha ha ha. I realise late that I have put this joke in the wrong forum among ladies. You are right. Old men are senile and as this joke shows jobless old men are still bad.

I dont think it was any jobless old man. It was Ford trying to reassure himself that he was still the President!

    Hi, Cheeniya,

Your comment is more hilarious than the original one. Ofcourse, jokes aprt we all would like to see the first woman president and when she becomes President , Clinton will become the First Man of U.S.A? like Hillary was the first aldy. Hillary Clinton has been reportedly appreciative of Indian women and the Indian family system.

    Dear Tamil,

Nice post. Interestingly enough, I hear conservative America, just like the Old Man is not ready for a woman president, yet. Let us wait and see. I personally like her though. I like her pizzazz.

    Jothi.

I always appreciate the manner in which Hillary carries herself. Her brave personal front to a unloyal husband. It becomes easy to say "this is what happens to people i high places".
Why in high places? Many of the families face this kind of"Infidelity". But what happens is we get withered away. We lose our mental strength to give a fitting reply. I don't mean one should retaliate. I know it's tough to act,"Well I would do things better in other other aspects of my life. I might have failed in one of my personal fronts".
I know a lady who is well aware of her husband's flings, occupying a very important position in the state. They have three grown up children. One is married. Yet things go right under the nose of the wife and children.
You will be surprised to know that she has the full reigns over the domestic affairs and his public life. She does with a smile aand tells some of her close associates "Well X can't get out of his weakness. I will definitely carry this wound. But remember it is I who hold the reign of everything in his public life. I will not seek a divorce, but make use of his public glamour without allowing a third person to claim. I know this is not THE solution, but this is the best solution in the existing condtion":2thumbsup: . The lady puts up a very bold front. Keeps herself happy.
I admire her courage to make the best out of what she has in her hands.
She dosen't get frustrated, nor depressed. She remains tall in physique as well as in her personal life.
A normal person would have been shattered by now. Kindly comment on what you think of this lady or of her handling of the situation. kanaka

    Dear Kanaka,

Certainly what your friend is doing is highly admirable. While comparing with Hillary Clinton there are several differences. First and foremost is the cultural difference. In western culture extra-marital affairs are common and divorce is an easy solution. But, here in India divorce is still a social stigma and people do look down upon divorcees. The big difference comes regarding children. Western socieities give good protection to children and local councils look after the children well. But, here in India the plight of children of divorced parents is pitiable. Considering these, what your friend is doing is a saga.
