    hi all,
Just wanted to know if you are living your life and doing things that make you happy??
if yes: what are you doing to make it content..
if no: what or how do u imagine it to be?

well for me it's a no, my happy life would be
    1. take care of my parents the way they did..be there for them anytime.
    2. To work really hard so I can make money and be financially independent
3.travel anywhere and get to know the culture of different places..
    4. attend events of friends and relatives be there for them..help them in work or guidance or anything as much as I can
(not by giving money. believe in teach the man to fish)
    5. sign up for ngo for orphanage, elderly home, animal shelter and volunteer work whenever possible.

well the list is actually long..I am a dreamer..
I wish I could these right off the bat..but can't as constraints are more..

well let me kno what you all would like to do.. nothing wrong in dreaming..

“Perhaps our dreams are there to be broken, and our plans are there to crumble, and our tomorrows are there to dissolve into todays, and perhaps all of this is all a giant invitation to wake up from the dream of separation, to awaken from the mirage of control, and embrace whole-heartedly what is present. Perhaps it is all a call to compassion, to a deep embrace of this universe in all its bliss and pain and bitter-sweet glory. Perhaps we were never really in control of our lives, and perhaps we are constantly invited to remember this, since we constantly forget it. Perhaps suffering is not the enemy at all, and at its core, there is a first-hand, real-time lesson we must all learn, if we are to be truly human, and truly divine. Perhaps breakdown always contains breakthrough. Perhaps suffering is simply a right of passage, not a test or a punishment, nor a signpost to something in the future or past, but a direct pointer to the mystery of existence itself, here and now. Perhaps life cannot go 'wrong' at all.”

Life will empty whatever you fill — and whatever you empty, Life will fill. That's the code: it is the higher, still hidden understanding required to realize the timeless splendor of the soul, all wrapped in mystery and filled with bittersweet contradiction. ~GUY FINLEY

:hello:I read this post with a heavy heart. In the light of contents of YOUR previous THIRTEEN posts in the last one year, I found this question about happiness in life emerges from your heart . Yes there could be a background that lead you to post this question.

    2. To live happily it is necessary for one to keep smiling and having fun 24/7 all 365days. That is at the end of the day, if one is able to retire to bed with a light heart, then he or she is satisfied and happy. It is simply that one is at peace with himself or herself. . To Accept and love oneself.

    3. But in reality except babies and kids, none can claim to be happy if one goes by above definition. Try to elicit answers from spouse to your title question.

    4. A mother Theresa was doing more out of passion but was she happy throughout doing all that . A man in colossal debts is able to live life to the hilt in a foreign land. Is he happy? For me, a handcart puller under blazing sun, goes into deep slumber on a culvert seems to be the happiest person in the world.

    5. There is no permanent or absolute happiness that would sustain for entire life. The very source which lends happiness turns into perineal sorrow with passage of time. Distance lend enchantment to the view. One thinks rest of the world are happy except him/herself.

    Thanks and Regards.
    God Bless.

Though I lament a lot..if I have to admit..well there are many times when am actually content and happy!:)when am allowed to be myself..only problem
Is my ideas of life is unconventional and do not go with the way the world works:D

For me happiness lies in a lot of things..
The first time I took a proper vacation was after marriage.Had very few clothes and I was quite adjusting and will do mix and match with chudidhar. Though I wore glasses and had lot of acne,I always felt beautiful and if someone bullies me it used to hurt and I will get angry with the person ..not for their words BUT it’s my ego which says “Who the hell are they to comment about me?”..:)

    My happiness..

    1) Fitness
    2) Morning filter coffee
    3) Beautiful backyard and it looks amazing in rains..just waking up to it!
    4) music,music and more!
    5) Rewatching kuch rang pyaar he aise be!
    6) food..especially sabhudhana upma (hot hot..yummy)
    7) walking with my iPhone early morning
    8) Mother Nature
    9) going to India and watching sun tv squished between my kid and mom:)
    10) love hate relationship with mil..and do some useless gossip with her
    11) Just being home,my home which is my abode
    12) being active and like to keep doing housework.Though it irritates me when place doesn’t stay clean..I love housework.
    13) Travel..I love mountains and beaches..No matter what..there is something magical about the mountains in India..I get mesmerized and eating hot pakoras and tea looking at the kodaikanal view..wow!
    14) Sleep and trying to recollect memories...
15)Listening to sadguru..his personal life can be debatable but he speaks the truth and it soothes my heart
    16) Watching movies eating food..
    17) Warm shower
    18) It feels great to have a minimalistic lifestyle..lot of happiness and contentment
    19) bring healthy and alive..
    20) Happy to be with hubby and kid all the time now..
    21) Hubby lost a lot of weight especially belly fat coz of my strict home food
and doing YouTube exercises..feeling proud and happy looking at him..
    22) waiting for my next vacation..
    23) talking and keeping touch with the right friends..I have a few but I feel comfortable and am just me without being fake and that feeling is super happy and priceless.
    24) my pooja room which is beautiful plus with a lot of zen.Just entering there, all the stress vanishes..
    25) Watching movies of Vijay devarakonda:D

I can keep going on..but the above is what makes me happy..My only problem is sometimes when I get succumbed
to peer pressure I get angry a lot that I cannot be truly me.I am
    Practicing a lot on acceptance.

Happiness lies everywhere around us,even in the smallest of things and true happiness is just being who you are and what you want to be.

Thanks for posting this beautiful quote aptly befitting the mental state of happiness. I am happy that you referred it here.
    2. This statement attributed to young author Jeff Forster of Oxford who wrote these lines after he realised repining at the approach of his death.
    3. His books on non dualism and advita philosophy are good read.

    Thanks and Regards.
