From one week we were not able to find rubber bands everywhere. Checked amazon but delivery is very late. We found one at Walmart so immediately booked it but next day the order got cancelled. Got very frustrated. Finally found it in one grocery store. Don’t understand why people hoard rubber bands
I wanted to make some cutlets. Finally ended up shallow frying them on a brand new pan which was unused for 2 years. Also instead of bread crumbs I used powdered poha because I dint have bread. I was so proud of myself for saving oil and finally using that pan
May be they are storing rubber bands to make masks with cloth/paper towels at home. Of course we don't need too many rubber bands.
Later I realised that mostly they are using for some DIY masks. But still I really don’t get why people hoard so much such that other people who genuinely want to buy has to struggle so much!!
Great thread, yet to read all replies. But here our take: - Less 'Gas' consumption for cars, as there is less to nill commuting to work/groceries. - Absolutely no take-outs. - Spending 30 mins time first thing in the morning to do yoga (everlasting wish todo during regular weekdays but never got chance due to morning rush things todo) - spending more time in the veggie garden as a family/couple. - Life has become slow but totally appreciable in personal level.
Not sure if its only a rumour or not but in our area also i heard that indian stores are so far struggling to get in new stock from india once the current stockpile depletes. a lot of these stores are closed already for a couple of weeks . and the ones open are only selling what they have already and not replenishing . even our local costco has put a limit on atta which they havent done ever since they started selling atta .
I understand about the multiple handling of milk, but that's the only source of calcium I'm relying on. Can't skip the two cups I take daily, the curd rice which I can't miss and the butter milk much needed for this summer. I chew Jaggery too after every meal. Have borrowed some Jaggery from my mom for time being until I find them in stores.
Super..we need to learn new experiments in food during this lock down. Poha is a great substitute for bread crumbs.
