Share your big and small resolutions for the time when this Coronavirus thing is gone.

What do you promise yourself you will do regularly?

What do you sincerely vow to never do again?

In totally random order, here is my incomplete list:

    - I will never brood on how the eyebrows lady did my eyebrows. I will not try to raise my eyebrows repeatedly and peer at my face in the rear view or vanity mirror when I am at the stop light on the way home from the parlor. If she forgot to put lotion after threading, I will not fret. I will simply ask her how her small business made it through the Coronavirus.

    - When ironing clothes, if a stubborn wrinkle in the cotton pant or top refuses to go, I will not keep endlessly spraying water and running the iron on it. I will consider the wrinkle as the natural texture of the fabric. I will examine it gently and with curiosity just like my meditation narrator says I should. I will simply say, 'Aaah stubborn wrinkle...'

    - I will build an app that will make an alarm like a car burglar alarm if I ever go to CNN on phone or computer.

    - So grateful to the doctors, nurses and health professionals who are taking care of others at risk to their own health. After Corona, I will never complain if I have to sit in a cold room, attired in only a paper gown, waiting for the doctor for well over 25 minutes. I will not open the door, poke my head out and testily ask a passing nurse, 'How much longer?'

    - I promise to never complain ever again if my wife asks me to take her out for dinner or go shopping. Money can come and go but the pleasure of going out with the family, I can't take it for granted. Corona has taught me an important lesson that going out with the family is the best thing I have enjoyed in my life.

    - I will volunteer as long as I am able with the Hospice. I will admire the employees of the Hospice every day of my life for taking very good care of the patients and their family members during these testing times even though they have no volunteers. I get restless missing the opportunity to volunteer as the Hospice management decided not to have volunteers come until social distancing is relaxed.

:grinning: Isn't it 20 seconds? Does WHO suggest 30 seconds?

Oh this reminds me of another resolution I did make earlier this week. Restaurants and coffee places have closed, as we drove around looking for at least one that had drive-thru open, and returned home, I was taking my shoes off and thought to myself, "I will never again complain if it takes 20 or even 30 mins for a waiter to first show up after we are seated at a table. If the waiter brings in the appetizer last or brings in soup, bread, appetizer, main course all together, I will simply smile and thank."

I will stop worrying whether we are anomalies to not want to socialize too much and prefer spending time as a family than meeting friends often. Also will not feel bad about my husband being introvert!!

John Campbell, the English medico that I had first watched in an American PBS program, is now much older, and presents a daily update on the worldwide goings on with the pandemic.

He is mostly matter-of-fact, never mind if the subject is grim or titter-worthy. And reminds me of some college professors (they all have some foreign accent in USA!) I've had. However, sometimes he'd summarize, and offer the bottom-line, as it were. Like this:

    • Post-corona, my distance is not going back to the pre-corona levels.
    • I have now subscribed to a few deliveries for home-consumables. These are going to continue.
Would this prompt post-corona coffee making at home ?
Or collect the required coffee paraphernalia for a box in the garage, and store it next to the earthquake-emergency box?

NY'er magazine had suggested that people avoid using words beginning with the sounds of "Th" or "P" -- like "Thank you" and "Please", because these sorts of words might produce an unseen aerosol of saliva..... and pathogen spread from one to another. See all other suggestions at source.
