We always have fruits for breakfast so no cooking there.

Every night I cook fresh and keep it very simple. One veg/meat curry. Store bought rotis/rice/idly/dosa with the curry. I make 90% Indian food and rarely make tacos, burger, pasta for my kid.
Weekend I grind idly/dosa batter thats all, not much prep work needed. In 30-45 mins I finish cooking each night.
I use 2-3 stoves, microwave, pressure cooker, rice cooker, magic bullet etc which aids the cooking and helps to finish fast. Also I use store bought ginger / garlic paste, store bought chopped garlic etc to save time. When I buy grocery, I clean the mint, coriander leaves, greens etc and keep them ready to cut and cook.

For lunch I usually take what I make for dinner the previous night. My kid eats hot lunch provided in school.

:hello:It just crossed my mind, as to how Astronauts or cosmonauts gone into space and moon for long returned robust almost. Did they cook in space?

    2. It looks, The idea of cooking once or twice a week among the full time working couple has not picked up in south India. In a place like Madurai, no hotel supplies regular dinner in the evenings with sambar rasam and curd. All hotel supplies only tiffen even during vee hours.

    3. Cooking simplified eliminating the monotony is now in pot without any loss of nutrition. It is fresh, less time consuming and there was a thread here discussing at length. Google search will educate one with valuable information.

    4. Happy cooking sisters and their DHs. Thanks to DHs who play and share active role and participate in kitchen ( not as a catalyst of course).
    HAPPY HOLI.
    Thanks and Regards.

God - one would like to offer as Neivedyam to You in varieties which you turn into sweet prasad.

    Thank you for the response!
Astronauts do not get to eat fresh food but mostly or only specially packaged food. There are videos on YouTube recorded by astronauts that show their life while in space. I found them very entertaining and informative.
    Happy Holi!

New to IL here..with all of us working from home, it's become easier. I do make food fresh daily and don't cut veggies previous night as I find cutting while cooking saves me time. We have brunch mostly by 11 am. Mostly south indian..rice is kept in rice cooker and make two sides-takes under 30 mins provided you have Tamarind paste, coconut grated etc handy in fridge. When we get hungry late afternoon..eat fruits/cereals or make something quick like poha. Dinner is mostly tiffin either dosa or something I can quickly keep in cooker like arisi upma. Sometimes we make more of the rice in the morning and have curd rice for dinner. Sometimes just keep fresh rice for dinner and have with podi and pickles. Some weekends I do avoid cooking by having tamarind rice etc as brunch.
