My grandma has always been an inspiration to me. She was a great woman. After my grandfather expired she came and stayed with us as my other was the only daughter. Though she had not studied much she had good knowledge and was an expert in cooking especially she was expert in making kaimurukku and people used to call her to make kaimurukku. My mother was a simple woman and not so courageous like my grandma so she always used to depend on her mother for everything. So our grandma only looked after us and for everything we used to ask my grandma. Somehow I used to maskafy my grandma and get my job done and she used to fulfill my wishes. She was expert in cooking ,now I feel why I did not learn from her. In young days I was not interested in cooking . I did not know I will be married to a big family where everyone is expert in cooking, even the gents. She used to cook everyone's choice especially my second brother's choice. Most of the Sundays she used to make sevai that too with the nazhi

.For my sister's marriage she cleaned rice for marriage and bought most of the steel vessels giving old clothes. She prayed that she will make 1000 kozhakattai for the marriage togo well. After marriage every Friday she made kozhakattais and marriage also went well.

She did not know hindi but would buy vegetables talking in Tamil. . She and me went to Delhi for my sister's delivery to.help her and once when I was late to go home and bring food for my sister she.came alone to the hospital. She stayed back and got cancer. She did not want to trouble them.so alone she came to Mumbai by train though my brother in law told her he will take her. Glad I had the opportunity to look after my grandma during her last days . What I am today is due to her blesssings. She told me for your marriage I may not be there but my blessings will be always with you and you will get a good husband.I got a gem of a husband and that too from her place

She is always in my thoughts .

My sister also has been my inspiration. We are good friends. She always gives up everything for me as she has no desires. She is Godfearing and always praying. In younger days any new saree during our working days she used to tell me to wear first then only she wears. She has no desires

She is very talented and when in school she got double promotion from 3rd to 5th and 5th to 7th. She has health problems since childhood .She used to lose hair when she had Rheumatism during school.
After marriage after some years she has arthritis problem. Now suffering from corn and other health problems due to old age. But she is still very.active.

Though she has luxurious life with a big house and servants in the house whole day she is on her toes.Gets up at 4 am and
Whole day busy and takes rest for only an hour. She is perfect in everything and her house is maintained well

An heartwarming and lovely tribute to your grandmother and to your sister vijima @iyerviji
Their mental strength and character of high caliber shows in you too.
There is so much to learn from them and from you to - how to be happy, how to keep busy, how to enjoy every small thing in life, and above all how to show unconditional love to all.
