Have you ever want to check out a recipe these days but do nothing but scroll and scroll and then look for the link to go to that recipe directly?

Anytime I google and try to check a recipe, these days it has become a drag! It’s great if there is some explanation but the way people explain pages after pages..oh man! Every minute detail..

Okay so I started checking video vlogs of recipes and one of the first ones I checked was vah chef. Atleast he is funny! But for a two minute recipe,he stretches to 10 Minutes!

why can’t things be short and simple!

Today I wanted to check a simple different variation of sambhar, regretted that decision and made my own..

    Just had to vent..

    Beauty lies in simplicity!

Exactly! In the print version, they have to talk about it being their mother's and grandmother's favorite dish, and how after so many trials the blogger has perfected it, and still misses mom's cooking, but can make do.

In one video, the lady was putting chopped cabbage or some leafy vegetable like that into the pan or instant pot. The video showed the process in excruciating detail until the last shred of cabbage had been transferred from the big bowl to the pan.

One other vlogger, she's good, but she will keep saying "as per your taste" for everything. She uses a food processor and will say ten times that I am not saying you should use this. You can chop by hand.

All these cases, I have learnt not to fast forward, because then I go too far ahead and have to anyway come back and watch those parts again.

My favorite are the videos with no talk, just the recipe steps, and done in under 90 seconds.

Oh yeah! I hear you! The same happened to me this week. I was looking for a recipe during a morning rush hour and I was scrolling up and down and couldn't find the recipe. It was hidden behind a button. What annoys me are the multitude pop ups and images that load simultaneously and slow you down from spotting the recipe.

If its just recipes, I too prefer videos where the host does not talk and focus is mainly on the ingredients and cooking. But there are channels that I like to watch the host talk while cooking. That's my me time with a cuppa. I do like detailed food blogs. It is a display of their knowledge and passion. But not when you just want to get going with the day!

Vah chef used to be my favorite. But nowadays I want quick videos with no arattai.
Like hebbar's . If at all there is a lot of talking I skip n fast forward and realize I would have missed some steps :worried:

But at free time I love watching lot of cooking videos.
Few of my current favorites are
Village cooking channel, Gordan Ramsay, hell's kitchen, agraharam recipes.

Yes Anika,I can relate :) But there are some youtubers who do the elaborate videos, because their regular viewers like it that way. There is a malayalam youtube channel mia kitchen and sometimes I find her videos very lengthy, but from the comments came to know that her regular subscribers just like to hear her talk and talk :) And you are right,Hebbars kitchen videos are short and neat!

The worst thing is..if they are making some spinach recipe for example..they have to explain about spinach, its history and geography,it’s health benefits, how green and beautiful it looks etc etc..that’s not even needed! We all know it is healthy..Direct to the recipe is easy on all of us

Yes... about the regular viewers. I know this about Giada deLaurentiis. She cooks italian. Boys watch her; and not what she cooks. She smiles like she is a dentist's model, and wears plunging necklines in many of her TV episodes. And even after so many episode the boys cannot cook a simple pasta:facepalm: to save their own lives.

Here she is in an unusual top that is upto her chin. Not normal for her. I like her dishes, and she also cooks fast without a lot of side stories.
