    Anyone with weight updates? How many kgs/pounds did you loose?
    I lost 2 kgs in 2 months. Not that great but atleast I didn't gain.
    I learnt about horse-gram here and tried it. The day I have it, I feel so full and have no appetite for anything else.

    Anyone knows any good horse-gram recipes?

    Losing 1/2 kg per week is healthy and sustainable. Rapid weight loss can lead to other health issues. I have already posted a few horse gram recipes for weight loss in the 1st page of this thread.You can check it out.

    Here’s what I do.Soak some horse gram in water overnight. Pressure cook till soft and add little saindavam lavanam,mix well.

    I started having 25 grams of the above with a glass of unsalted buttermilk twice a day.This needs to be done everyday for at least 40 days.I have no body heat issues as buttermilk helps! I got this tip from an Ayurveda vaidya and I am pretty positive that it works. I also workout along with portion sizing my food. I have noticed inch loss.You can join me. By the way horse gram is strict no-no for women trying to conceive.Also never have horse gram in large amounts. Start with 15-25 grams of cooked horse gram and slowly increase it to 50 grams per day.Also have lots of buttermilk and/or barley water.

    Adding a few more horse gram recipe to this thread.If interested you can try any one of the following.

    1.Dry roast 1 cup horse gram and 3 tbsp cumin seeds seperately. Fine Powder and mix them together and store in an air tight glass jar. Make this powder enough to last for 15 days (avoid making in large amounts to retain freshness).Have light dinner 2-3 hours before hitting the bed.Just before going to bed add a tbsp of this powder to a glass of thin buttermilk and drink.(do not eat anything after this till next day).

    2.Dry roast 1 measure each of horse gram,cumin seeds,fenugreek seeds (can use 1/2 measure of fenugreek instead of 1 measure) separately.Grind them all together with 1 measure of flax seeds,sieve and store in a glass jar.Mix starting with 1/4th tbsp (gradually increase to 1/2 - 1 tbsp) with a glass of hot water and drink (while its still hot) early morning on an empty stomach 1/2 an hour before breakfast.If you cant have the drink due to the bitterness add little lemon juice to the drink.You can also add little honey while the water is still hot.At night time have a glass of hot water before sleeping.This also results in glowing skin. Don’t forget to drink buttermilk on a daily basis.

    Along with following the above remedy you can mix little horse gram sprouts with moong dal sprouts, vegetables and spice it up to make a chat pata salad time to make a light meal.

    @snehalJoshi Here is another recipe that you can combine with diet and exercise to lose weight/inches,to combat bad fats and to look beautiful.

    Horse Barley Soup

    Both black horse gram and regular horse gram are rich in medicinal value.One can use any variety.Horse gram reduces Triglycerides and promotes body weight/fat loss with healthy digestion.However it leads to stool issues and increases body heat when taken in large amounts.So taking it in the right amount is very important.Horse gram is known to balances the tridoshas - vata,pitha and kapha.Barley is taken as a soup since time immemorial which provides a lot of energy and also is cooling to the body.This combats any heat generated by horse gram.Black pepper corn reduces Triglycerides and aids easy digestion,crystal sea salt is used for taste.

    For the soup dry roast 50 grams horse gram, 50 grams barley and 10 grams of black pepper corns separately,grind and sieve into a fine powder.Store in a glass jar.Heat 100 ml water to a roaring boil, add 2 tsps of this powder along with crystal sea salt to taste.Cook for sometime. Remove and pour into a bowl. Let cool (optionally you can mix the soup with some unsalted buttermilk) and relish this soup every morning or twice a day i.e morning and evening with meals for 3 months to reduce excess body fat and to become beautiful.
    For this to work one also needs to eat sensibly and keep the dinner light (finish dinner 2-3 hours before bed time) while working out for 5-6 days a week.

    How much horse gram should 1 eat daily during the weight-loss journey? I could eat 1 bowl of horse gram daal and that would make me sooo full that i can't eat anything else. this is good but i read somewhere that one shouldn't overdo it and horse-gram should be taken in limited quantities. any thoughts?

    need to reduce my stubborn belly fat and rings around my hips. started working out on yoga and exercises, from march. taking enough food and munching well atleast for 15 times before swallowing . due to this my stomach gets full very soon. this method helps me to reduce my stubborn tummy to an extend. still more to go. and having ginger and cinnamon tea in morning. cut on sugar too plays an important role in reducing weight .

    Have heavy break fast and moderate lunch and very little dinner. drink plenty of water.
