Anyone Interested In One Meal A Day..

    Hi everyone,
    Is anyone interested in one meal a day. I know, it might sound crazy.. I am up for it. And I wanted to post here so I don’t cheat or discontinue.
    If this interests somebody or if anyone is already doing it. Pl reply to this thread to motivate each other and to know your struggles and what you’d prefer eating while fasting.
    I have been doing intermittent fasting w two meals a day for a month And lost only 3.5pounds and it is v slow. And I tried it yesterday to see if it’s doable, I had heavy lunch and a snack after two hours and that’s it. Didn’t eat my dinner and I was ok to break fast today around 1:30pm.
    This March I want to do omad for a month and see the results. I have 15pounds to loose to acheive my goal. With fasting I couldn’t do much of exercise w fear of breaking fast or getting tired. Once I acheive my goal I want to incorporate exercise to maintain the weight.
    saw couple of videos on YouTube and got inspired looking at how they transformed. If this inspires someone to loose. Come join with me.

    HI ,

    I am so far losing like one pound a week by eating two big meals a day with 1-2 tea cups with milk and stevia .
    I have just started experimenting with OMAD . Not exactly one meal but one big meal + fruits and cheese + tea(with milk and sugar) in a 3 hour window . I will check the weight by next week.

    Hi.. good to hear ur journey with IF. Three hour window looks promising. 1-2 pounds a week is still good. I was loosing 1pound a week did for almost 4weeks now, yet to weigh myself this week.
    You loosing 1-2lbs sounds good, as I’m stuck w 1lb only. what r ur timings and is it 16:8. And do u have a healthy diet w greens etc. can u explain what u eat..

    You are doing great @Caughtinbetween. I am trying dirty keto, but my weight lose has plateaued.
    Can you substitute your fruit with something else? You will loose more.
    I do not think I can do 'one meal a day'. But will read this thread, to keep inspired. I do really good, if I exercise.

    My advice would be to not take up aggressive meal plan without appropriate guidance by professionals.

    Everyone is different and responds differently. Body weight reduction is not an indication of health.

    Some people do detox and will lose 3 lbs in a week. But it needs to be followed with proper nourishment. The weight comes back if the routine is not sustainable.

    You body needs the nutrients. Will you be able to provide your body with enough.

    Maybe if you share your meal details, someone can give suggestions.

    A few of things I would suggest is:
    1. Remove sugar of all kind from your diet ( direct or indirect )
    2. Remove all fried food and packaged snacks ( snack only on fruits and vegetables - don't include sugary fruits like grapes )
    3. Portion control your carbs

    4. Add greens in each meal ( plus 2 vegetable smoothies per day - no fruits in it )
    5. Drink lot of water ( for every 20kg of body weight you want to drink 1 litre of water )
    6. Get at least 30 minutes exercise everyday.

    If you are able to do the above consistently for 30 days, you can think about the next steps.

    If you eat meat, you can consider eating only fish and steam it and eat it for the protein.

    Hi @Thoughtful, what u said is right. Body needs nutrients and I am trying to get aggressive here and have been contemplating for long time if it’s possible to do it without damaging health. Fixing anything specially for me or making juices or separate menu doesn’t work in my case as I have two toddlers to take care and I keep occupied in kitchen fixing things for them if they don’t like something. Right now my life is stressful, with kids, v little help from h and I’m studying a new technology and v much occupied
    That being my schedule and unable to fit in exercise in my routine. So, IF is what I chose and it was working. But slow..
    My diet: I was eating one portion of green veggie curry w Chapathis in the noon or one chapathi and small bowl of rice. I would include an egg.
    Evening a small snack, not healthy one .. I would munch on some snack or biscuit w my coffee.
    dinner consists of rice like pulao rice or spinach rice w curry or dal alternating, or dosa w chutney, w buttermilk.
    Those r two meals I routinely do...
    sugar I hardly consume except in my coffee that too in the evening a spoon. I would try a small sweet only when I go to a restaurant during weekend. And I am not a fan of sweets or cookies.
    I crave for salty snacks only.
    post pregnancy weight is what I’m unable to shed even after my baby is past 1.5 now. I was on steroid during preg due to low platelets and that caused more weight gain and unable to loose.
    And I’m not a fruit person, but I like to eat steamed veggies like broccoli, carrots and raw cucumbers. I can eat them any time... bad eating habit that I have is snack here and there and some times chips. Nowadays completely avoided it.
    And H is foodie loves all fried curries, and tasty only for which I end up using oil more than required to make a crispy fry. I had to change my eating habit due to his choice. So cooking for kids and us is again a different menu. It gets tough to fix another thing for me. It’s impossible

    just a doubt please ...if i want to start taking pre natal tabs , do you still take multi vitamins to supplement or vitamins in both are similar

    You are good if you take prenatal vitamins. No need of more multi vitamins. As it has all the vitamins that u need incl calcium and vit D.

    thank you amulB . so far yesterday turned out to be good . started fast at 3pm yesterday and then had lunch today at 1pm . its dirty though ..had tea with milk and stevia in the morning and then 3 spoons gajar halwa and one spoon chawanprash . finished one meal for the day (gobhi paratha(4 small) + potato fry + veggie kadhi(1 big cup) . lets see how today goes . its not exactly one meal overall , i am trying to keep only one big meal for the day as my goal for next few weeks.
