    Hello friends :)

I tried using shikakai many times to remove oil, it does not work. I use 4 spoons shikakai, 3 spoons reetha, 2 spoons amla and 2 spoons besan, mix in hot water, and apply allover my hair for 30 min like a pack. Still the oil does not get removed. What am I doing wrong? Please help.

You need to gently scrub your scalp with your finger tips in circular motion while taking head bath. You can increase the amount of Reeta If this is still not working for you.

Another alternative method is to simple rinse the hair pack off the scalp and hair with luke warm water and then take head bath with a Mint infused shampoo. This infusion works great for oily hair.

    Mint infused cleanser
Boil 2 handfuls of fresh mint leaves on a slow-medium flame in 1 and 1/2 glasses of water (375 ml) for 20 minutes until it reduces to half.Let cool, strain the solution and mix it with 300 ml of mild shampoo, store in a bottle and use as needed. Mild shampoo is a Sulfate and Paraben free shampoo.Examples of mild shampoos are Himalaya,Natures gate,Khadi,Dr Bronners castile liquid soap.

You can also try taking head bath with just Reeta juice or tamarind juice (use old tamarind which is black in color).

Thank you, but I don't want to use chemicals on my hair. But I will try to increase Reetha quantity and then get back to you.

Try increasing amount of reetha and hibiscus. Do not heavily oil when using herbal shampoo it won't remove oil. Traditionally when this shampoo was used in India nobody minded about walking around with oily hair after bath. So it won't work in the modern scenario like a shampoo does. You can still use a dilute amount of shampoo to wash off hair pack because all the nutrients have been absorbed into hair and scalp already so no harm in using tiny bit of shampoo
