    Hi,
I am not a runner. I am looking for some good walking shoes. I am currently using sketchers go walk ones. It's more like casual shoe.
I am having knee pain because of walking in a wrong way or wrong shoes. I did walk in the hilly roads without proper shoes. So, planning to change to a good walking shoes. My PT also recommended to try shoe inserts. Anyone used shoe inserts before? I have to get a median arch support. Anyone tried that?
    Thanks.

Use DSW shoe inserts. Check DSW stores online , they have good shoes as well.

    Thanks.
    I have DSW store nearby.
I read that, we have to go to a running shoes store to get proper measurement and they will have proper knowledge on which shoe works better for our legs/feet.
    Do you use inserts?

My friend's son had a bad sports knee injury, so
They measure and fitted exactly on shoes.
    DSW has podiatric shoes too.
For recommendations on shoes it's better to ask your doc or a podiatrist.

Assuming you live in the US/Canada: These are the ones I use. Every shoe I own has one, plus I have a boxful of backups. Expensive (Overpriced? I cannot speak to the value proposition), but I like them. I've been using them for over a decade.
New Balance has a variety of fits for pronation, supination, stability/support, etc. Try and have your shoes fitted at a store that does personalized fittings. Not every store does. Ask around where you live. Take your old, worn-out shoes with you. The wear (inside heel/outside heel etc.) will indicate what kind of support you need. Here's a guide as an example. Also, see here.

Check with your ChiroPractitioner. They make custom fit and nothing can beat it.
They recommend shoes too based on your need.

Have you consulted podiatrist for the pain .. they can prescribe you the inserts and the right kind of shoes ..since insurance will pay for inserts it’s prescription..

Am using Nike shoes ( am comfortable with that brand ) with heel support inserts for plantar fasciitis I got these inserts thorough Rx in a running company .. I have pain on heel .. yes they do take measurements to fit to your requirement.. it’s working for me .. am feeling lot better .. At home also I Wear hoka sandals since most of the pain is due to waliking on hard floor ..

They say when you bend shoes it should not bend then that’s gives you right support ..

Am not sure your condition but it’s better to check with specialist ..

I don't have any chiropractor. Haven't been to them before. I don't see much good reviews for chiropractors in my area. Most of them go to PT only.

I look for sturdy looking shoes. The current fad of 'knit' looking shoes, may not be supportive. Same with keds kind of shoes, and chappals, flat sandals
Trys clarks, they are amazing- the flat ones
Best to be fitted at some store. And pronation etc- you can figure out by the wear on the soles of your old shoes.
