    RIP Priyanka Reddy

I disagree, things are changing even if it is very less. The wave of change is definitely there.
I wouldn't say there is no change is last 10 years. But there needs to be more done.

I was in 9th grade and our biology class was gender segregated and the teacher was teaching us about unborn baby etc and how ultra sound helps to look at baby. Thanks to my 'ahead of her times' mother, she had told me a lot about female infanticide and how ultrasound is helping it. I couldn't stop myself from interrupting the teacher and telling her that there is negative side to ultrasound. She carried on to tell that it helps to detect sex, and again I interrupted her to tell her that sex determination can lead to even bigger problems. She carried on. Rest of the class was like- why? what? why do you have to say that?
I had once posted on my fb about some eve teasing news on FB, and my friends in India and in US, took offence and started sharing how great India is. I had not meant anything bad about my country of origin.

I have been taught to, not talk about this stuff in public, just like don't talk about one's husband being abusive or MIL being abusive or even parents being abusive.

I, on the other hand refuse go with above rule and often blurt out the 'ugly problem' in front of a group.
I have been given looks...but I believe that first step to weed out a systemic problem is to talk about it openly and often. There is no point in internalizing or talking in hush tone about 'the ugly'. Every one has to talk. All people. And if the juggernauts join in talking about the problem, then the change can happen.

Thinking again, it's about feeling good about yourself. RIP. Yeah, I am such a kind soul, my heart bleeds for the victim no 'n'. And then there's n+1. I will say RIP n+1 too.

Telangana home minister said she should have called 100 instead of her sister.
Seriously how many people get the idea to dial 100 in such situation? Very less I guess. Purely because of no awareness. I heard about 100 when I was a little girl. Later never heard of it . It just vanished from my mind until yesterday in twitter saying dial 100.
Awareness should be created by government about 100 just like 911 in usa

Court must punish the culprits immediately without any hearings or arguments.Humanright commission member should not interfere in such cases. Most important is the common man must have the courage to fight with those rowdy gang.A large crowd just stand as an audience to see a punch of people attacking a single man.can't these crowd attack the gang and rescue the victim?if the public begin to revolt against rowdism these cowards will run away.No use of believing the government to safeguard the people. They need Police protection for their safety but forget the people who elected them. All protection given to Politicians and high officials must be with drawn and Police must be allowed to do the duty of giving protection to common man.Let us pray for a safe life to women and kids.

Because he was a minor apparently when he committed crime...
Isn't that even more disturbing... a minor being so full of brutality... he is now major but got away of being minor at the committing day

As long as there are people living below poverty line and in slums etc, this menace would only continue to grow! In the present case, all the four were in their early 20s, lorry cleaners and a driver. Their level of education and the circumstances in which they may be living - seeing all sorts of brawls and fights and violence could be an added factor! However, nothing can condone this sort of brutality - however much we may think of it, there does not appear an easy solution to prevent such incidents in future.

Feels depressing to know about such brutal attacks. Women must and should learn some art of self defense techniques like karate, martial arts etc.Carry pepper sprays and call for help!!

Police did not respond properly to Priyanka's parents complaint and they wasted lot of time over jurisdiction issue and asking inappropriate questions about her. If police responded quickly, they could have saved her.
