Handwriting In Older Age

    We have already quit using much paper to write on. Things are put on screen, sent, seen onscreen, and filed away or tossed. The fingers get no practice to sustain the way we had written when young. While thinking this I get to see a news item of girls who are much older doing just fine in written exams.

    After Quitting School To Take Care Of Her Siblings, 105-Year-Old Returns To Take Class 4 Exams

    I am signing my name now and then, to break in a ball point pen, as well as to make sure it stays somewhat the same on the cheques I sign once in a while. Creditcard slip signatures used to be just a formality, and now with the embedded chip, and the PIN, even that bit of writing had gone out of our lives.

    How do people maintain their handwriting ?

    So nice to read this news amid all the other sad news. Felt good to read the article.

    Bullet Journal. :blush: A few lines only each day, but I make some effort to write neatly.
    My uneducated guess is that handwriting is mostly dependent on how one is taught to hold the pencil, and how much one follows the instructions for writing letters. Girls are more of rule followers in the 3-7 or 8 yrs age group, so they end up with better handwriting?

    That is why people write SriRama Jayam or some saintly phrases 108 times or a page full.If they start scribbling there too, let Rama save them.
