    Hi guys..
We are planning a trip to Europe during June/July.

planning early so that we get better deals.
Am sure many of you visited Europe during that time.
I am thinking on the lines of Greece/Italy..

can you guys let me know which is the best vacation spot to visit at that time?

Also, any other vacations around that time which will be worth it.

Not sure of Greece but Italy gets really warm by mid June. I would do the Scandinavian countries in summer.
What happened to dec plans? Look up Aruba - it was paradise in Dec.

I meant the northern parts of EU(Iceland, Norway, Sweden etc) or Scotland/Ireland/wales and London. I’ve been to all other places before June 15th. It gets crowded, pricey and hot after that. While living in India, We could do EU in May during the summer break there and it was still nice and not expensive. With young kids it’s best to do one or two countries and go back for more.
Why Greece? It’s kind of overrated. If you have never been, France and - one of Switzerland or Holland or Belgium or Germany or Portugal are all good trips. With a Eurail pass and early reservations you can enjoy a lot of the places in France and southern France along with one of the other countries.

It rained, the canal stank and I refused to get in the gondola. I love Amsterdam and Venice didn’t compare for me. I prefer Rome personally. I do have a friend who goes gaa gaa over Venice. Best to go late May or early June to Italy before the heat sets in.

Yes!! Venice is good in pictures, where you cannot smell anything. Summer in Venice is crowded and pretty horrible. Winter is more tolerable. Rome, Florence are much nicer places.

Holland: is great in April-May, because of flowers in Keukenhof [In 2020, the Keukenhof Garden will open from March 21 to May 10, including the Easter weekend, King's Day (27 April) and Liberation Day (5 May).] One can buy locally cold-pressed Argan oil in Leiden city. And of course, there is Gouda cheese shops -- much better choices than at the airport shops. June in Holland would still be temperate; but July-Aug would be hot. And too many German tourists.

Vienna, Budapest, Prague -- all have problems of the rise in nationalism. Avoid during local elections. For brownskins, these are safer in tour groups than individual walkabout ventures.

It depends on the child’s interests. With DD, the first time we went, we did the books before hand and took her to museums in Amsterdam and introduced her to the artists very young. She had a great time. I still have fond memories of taking multiple boat tours with her in Amsterdam and taking in the sights and sounds of the city. We did a walking tour too and she did really well. No complaints whatsoever(age 5). We also did a lot of eating at the various outdoor cafes with her.
