I think some of the schools having lockers for students to keep their books and other stuff. May be Government needs to pass order of include this facility in all schools.

Thanks Mistt for your detailed feedbacks. You have made valid points. I too may have many things to say on the current education system in India. But, let's leave it here, as this is a light-hearted snippet.

    Dear Sri Tamrakshar:

What an interesting thread describing your interaction with the school teachers about your daughters. Most parents here are blamed for speaking in English with the children preventing them from learning their mother tongue and now the teachers in India are asking the parents to speak in English with the children. I am glad at least your wife is speaking in Bengali to keep your daughter in touch with Bengali.

If a girl of your daughter's age is not talkative, who else will? Talking comes naturally to the girls as they become queen of words latter. The girl learns how to speak early enough so that she could ask one question that would make the husband returning home after a long day work nervous. Grade C for discipline for your daughter speaking in the class after finishing her class work is a little too much. Isn't discipline involve other things in the class including ability to finish class work, listening to the teacher, helping other children, etc.?

Again, there was PTMs for the final term. Thankfully, I didn't have to go with her this time, as my wife, at last, garnered enough courage to handle it herself. The children were also told to remain at home as precautionary measure.

In the half-yearly, my elder daughter did better than the younger one, and won a prize from me.
This time the younger one determined to do better than her Didia. Boy, she did it!
