We make besan sabzi with methi leaves or white radish(both leaves and raddish). One of my colleague also makes it with broccoli, he said it's his way of getting broccoli into stomach.

I was thinking I can try it with different types of green leafy veggies available here in US as I don't like those leafy greens raw or in just plain sabzi. I like the taste of besan, so I might be able to eat those leafy greens.

Trying to change my diet for weight loss and went on having just a big salad for dinner, but wasn't filling. I can pretty much eat the sabzi as is without any roti or so and maybe a good option for a healthy dinner with salad.

Has anyone tried using diff leafy greens or any other vegetables you use to make besan sabzi?

I picked it up from Pune ... besan with capsicum and I also use Besan with bhindi to make it more crispy ....

just the Pitla — besan curry is also good with rotis ....look up for recipe ...

In Andhra there is some thing similar called as Bombay chatni , try it - it is eaten with puri

from bengal you have beguni which is large egg plant prices friend with besan batter ... it is yummy ... goes best with khichdis or puri..

I like the pakoda kadhi ... mix of yogurt and besan kadhi with pakodas... can skip pakodas and can drink as soup too

Interesting replies. Never heard of Pitla or Bombay chutney but looked it up.

    OP,
I think you are asking for dry veggies recipes where Besan is an ingredient. Google or look up recipes for beans Parupusili it is Tamil traditional recipe made with green beans and besan (or traditionally soaked Chana dal paste which is ground and steamed)
If that is something that interests you you can try Kale variation, Swiss chard and even green peppers instead of green beans

Try beans pakodi subzi, it’s delicious. To make it healthy you can bake these instead of deep frying.I tried both ways and are good.

Spring onion goes well with weight reduction goals. All these sabjis made using minimum olive oil for frying with chickpea powder.
Thanks for listing numerous varieties mouth watering? Where is chappathi?
    Regards.

Kadhi pakoda is very popular in punjabi cuisine. I add different veggies to the pakoda. The pakoda can be shallow fried or baked. Goes very well with rice.

    @SinghManisha @kveena
My earliest experience ofeating besan side dish was sometime in 1959 when a North Indian opened a small hotel near a temple when no other hotel was making available chappathi in our area. It was opened for few hours only in the evening. In the evening I used to sit in the temple for a while only to inhale the swadh wafting from the adjacent hotel.

    2. When I had collected enough money, one evening I visited and ate chapathis in this hotel with sabhji made of basan. I was told it is known as SAGUh. While eating chapatis with this side dish, I made a mental study as to how to make it.

    3. I tried and made it and served my sister and mom. Sister & mom made chapatis. It is very easy to cook. Aloo SAGHU simplest. Link in google :

    Thanks
    Regards.
God bless our tummy every day & night.
