    Hi all,
I am having some Bulgy varicose veins in my leg. It's been there for a couple of years. It's started giving me some discomfort, pain and burning sensation from the last week. I went to a vein clinic here and they did an ultrasound and told me the treatment plan. Looks like I need Endovenous thermal ablation along with sclerotherapy for Minor ones.
They did ultrasound for both the legs. I have varicose veins and pain in only one leg. But they checked both the legs and told me the same treatment plan for both the legs(thermal ablation for both the legs).
I was little worried about their diagnosis and not so sure how to proceed with.
Did anyone have any experience here? Have you or anyone you know have treated the varicose veins here.
I am just thinking to do it here or should go back to India and do it there.
    Any input is really appreciated.
    Thank you.

I dont have any experience. But my aunt had this issue in her legs which lead to pain and discomfort. Finally she had gone for surgery. Look like it helped her

If you are worried, why dont you take second opinion. Google is a best platform to learn about treatment, its positives and negatives. May be learning more about the procedure will help you to take a decision

Thank you so much for the reply @DDream.
Yeah. I am planning to get a second opinion.
It's very difficult to choose a doctor based on Google and other reviews. It's completely mixed up. Even for my first visit, I read so many reviews and searched a lot to get into a clinic.
How do you all choose your doctor? Everyone goes to only Indian doctors?

I am not talking about doctor, but the procedure to treat the condition. Your family physician may help you to find a good one. You can ask for options

Yeah. I understand that you mentioned about the treatment options!!!
I was just asking to know how you all choose a new doctor.
I don't have a good physician. I am not so comfortable with her. Just been to her once. So,I just rely on reviews to chose a doctor.

@gknew , Dont have much idea, recently saw the spider veins om my thigh nd was reading about it and varicose veins.

One of my go to sites for checking about diagnosis and treatment options is the mayoclinic. I am attaching the links in case you havent checked out here.

    Video: Endovenous thermal ablation

Procedures on our body can be intimidating, I totally get it. But docs are experts and do a darn good job. It is good to do due diligence and be an engaged patient but try not to over analyse. Upto a point worry, and then have faith. Please choose a doc who you feel comfortable and confident about.

From my personal experience, what is good for others may not be good for you. And dont restrict yourself to Indian docs only. There are patients who implicitly trust the doc and dont want to know the details (ah, those blessed people) and there are some of us who want to know every tiny detail and want more than warm assurances . So choose a doc who respects/meets your needs. Go with your gut feel.

I was comfortable with my gyne ( a chinese male) but with the collective wisdom of "all" I changed to a highly recommended Indian lady gyne in my 4th month . It remains one of my big regrets.
But that same lady Dr. worked out great for so many other women.

Thank you so much for your reply @SunPa.
You are right. I have such blessed doctors when I was in India. I can blindly trust them.
But in US, it's not the case. All the doctors are the same and always be ready to get the insurance money.
I didn't go to an Indian doctor though. I always go to a doctor based on my opinion. Won't stick only to Indian doctors. But many friends told me that it's always best to go with Indian doctors for any speciality. Those friends are here for decades. So, I don't know if I should agree to it.

Dear Friend, I saw ur post regarding treating varicose veins,
Shall i tell u regarding this, varicose veins comes to a person who works continiuosly in standing position, over weight obesity of the body, lack of physical exercises like walking, and it affects ladies during and after pregnancy.
there r many treatment in alternative medicines, u pls just try homeopathy medicine for that, but u should take it continiously without break.
The following 2 medicines u can take.
    1. Venorbis drops from Adel 44. 15 drops with 1/4th cup of water, 3 times a day after food.
    2. Calcarea Flourica tablets 3x potency, 3 tablets, 3 times a day, after food.
The above drops and tablets can be taken , and u can get relief from leg pain, cramps, heaviness in legs.
And u can apply pain relieving gel for external use.
Definetely u will see the relief in 15 days itself.
