I am better than you. Very soothing and relieving thought. This thought keep us going even with the failure that we get in day to day life. If I failed then I am better than those who don't have the money to enroll. We always say that when someone is sad then he/she should realise that how their lives are better than others who don't have the things materialistic or relationship or the mental peace that one have. It keeps our ego alive. We live in our own world of betterness where we are satisfied with our little achievements by comparing with those who achieved less. Is that all about to satisfy ourselves. To lower our work to put efforts in that field. There is so much to learn but for many things we are satisfied by being better than few people we know. What does that mean for you?
True. we should always see the people below us than above us. Then we feel we are better. I am satisfied with what I have. Feel blessed
It's all stories. Everyone tells themselves one - whether it is to feel better or to get that night's sleep - it's all about how convinced you are with that story.
Seeing the people below us is for contentment or to say we are lucky to have reached here. ‘I am blessed to have this’ kind of feeling. Seeing the people above us is for growth n encouragement to strive for more. N I mean it in a positive way. A way to make one even better. Example, for a 20 year old, the second option may help them to reach their goals n the second one for a retired senior citizen, ‘all done n dusted’ feeling. Depending on what your age is or the ‘phase’ of your mentality, it differs about which one each picks.
A lick of gratification (along those lines) is acceptable, but a lard of complacency (while counting the blessings) might be detrimental in undermining our ability to perform better in life. Seeking out an understudy to our own vision is fetching in the early years of our life, later on, developing resistance like that of MRSA bug which refuses to be disciplined with repeat dosage. Blessings are gradually disobliging, in that, recovery into a humbled self is not consistent in the fullness of time. Blessings lose their charm on realization that demography is as solitary as oneself with even the closest match of xx-something educated, decent earnings imaginatively distant in constraints and conveniences. The extremity is to be misled in life on viable chances when we languish in blessings (could perhaps do better than the unblessed next person). We run the risk of not pursuing the oblique and unforthcoming chances in life tending to brood on our relative blessings. I don't know how farther I could aspire from a hairy amoeba or a kalahari hunter or a food critic in Albuquerque, where I am situated among them, but I have a feeling right now the hairy amoeba is giving me that yucks at my uncleaned laptop.
Everything in balance. (everything is good, only when done in balance). Once the balance goes, everything goes.
LOL! Food critic in Albuquerque ! This aspiring bizness is different, if done to please oneself vs. to gain a higher rank in the troupe we belong to. If the HA on the laptop is using the heat, to curl her hair to look better than the jane-next-door (on the next key?) -- would that be as satisfactory as muttering to herself "pilate or depilate .....that is the question" ?
