Intermittent Fasting For Weight Loss

    Welcome to this thread. Its a good start that u have made up your mind for dieting. I feel the main challenge in weightloss is having the determination and intension to start. Once you start , you are over the biggest hurdle of procrastination (thinking will start next week, month , etc.)

    From my research , its possible to loose weight by only dieting , but adding a few things like taking the stairs instead of lift, walking for a minimum of 15-20 mins(while going or coming back from work) or any home exercise like Leslie Sansone walk .. will help in increasing your metabolism and loose weight faster. Also when we do some form of exercise, we feel bad to break our diet thinking we worked hard so much for the activity, so we will think twice before reaching for the cookie jar :nono:.

    My update:
    Finished dinner at 5 yesterday and went for my usual walk.
    tried out the turmeric tea recipe by skinny recipes in youtube this morning at 7.
    I actually liked the taste.
    Planning to do this for 5 days to see if there is any effect.
    So fasting time was 14 hours yesterday.

    2. I suggest one attempting on this kind of mission, should remain at large so that such unanticipated intrusions or and hindrance to will power and practice of IF are avoided.

    3 I empathize with loss of one day in your program.

    Hi I started day before. But not sure if I’m doing right.
    Yeserday at 12pm had quinoa bisibelebath.
    After few hrs had some mixed nuts
    But evening 6pm had to go out for dinner so had garlic naan and paneer tikka masala. I know I did a mistake.
    Will try eating something healthy :disappointed:

    Today’s menu

    Morning yoga for 30 min

    Drank small glass of methi water

    11am Breakfast : Strawberry avocado Smoothie

    1:30 pm Lunch : 3 chapati and bhindi curry

    7:30 pm Dinner : 2 falafels, small portion of Lebanon salad, Cilantro baba ganache, Hummus,1 pita bread

    Started IF from Friday. But not able to update.
    For last 3 days i tried and finished my dinner time by 7.00 pm

    will post regularly hereafter.

    Weekends are always challenging... did eat some fried stuff but in the eating window. skipped walking on saturday , but managed to fit in 40 mins walk yesterday.

    Fasting time was 14 hrs yesterday.

    Turmeric tea @7
    2 Dosas +sambar +1 cup coffee for break fast
    tea + chips :BangHead:
    Rice+Sambar + rasam+ mochai sundal + curd for lunch
    Cucumber + peanut butter
    Palak soup @ 5 (planned)

    I realize if I am planning to eat something for which I am craving , if I drink water immediately the craving subsides. So, planning to keep an eye on water consumption this week and ensure that I drink at least 2 lts.

    Morning : Zucchini noodles with black beans, avocado and bell peppers
    Noon : Cucumber salad, Quinoa and sambar
    Night : Temple Prasadam (Salad, Khadi, Jeera rice, Veg curry, Puri, Jamun 1)

    :hello::hello:There are two points for consideration :
    1. Water - consumption - entire requirement of water is to be apportioned into several periods and never taken in one go. Half an hour Before and or after meal half an hour later drink water . This would not only prevents dilution of nutrients in the food to be digested but facilitates better absorption (of nutrients.)
    2. The gastric juices ( hydrochloride acid ) that is secreted in stomach ought to be used up in digesting the food that goes into stomach. If excessive secretion of digestive juices stays longer unused during the interval between eatings think what will happen to inner walls of stomach?
    My mom used to say “Hurry, Worry & Curry” can cause ulcer.

    I had a severe head ache for the last couple of days so didn't manage a proper diet. But back on the wagon now.

    Did my weekly weight check. I have reduced by about 1.2 kg from my previous weight:

    Last week : 75.6 Kg
    Now: 74.4 Kg

    Today's plan:
    BF: Soup + wheat bread toast (3)
    Lunch: Rice + Radish sambar + Bhindi + Curd
    Evening: Puffed rice salad with carrot , cucumber , ground nuts etc

    Earlier dinner : 2 idlis with coconut chutney
