    H. luzonensis... :relaxed:

As an update to the story thought to share this "map". Simple for the eyes, also kinda gives an idea about our direct ancestors and other evolutionary cousins of us.

    Evz.jpg

Seems 7-13 million years ago, we might have separated from the chimp lineage. Notice how the evolutionary route looks zig zag-y much after that diversion? The deadends marked there might extend too someday when scientists may find new species fossil evidence, I guess.

Now, where will H.l be placed on that map? After H.f, and inserted @16 in the list?

Here's a story, about the rarest event ever recorded, a replica of which we may never again see.
It should bring back happy memories of high-school chem.
Whoah, those electron orbital thingies are real!! :yikes:

    Time present and time past
Are both perhaps present in time future,
And time future contained in time past.
If all time is eternally present
    All time is unredeemable.

More news from the why-are-we-not-talking-about-this category,

This week atmospheric CO2 levels reached 415 ppm for the first time in 3 million years.

    mlo_one_week.png

Why is that a big deal? In the words of meteorologist who covers the climate crisis,

    Screen Shot 2019-05-14 at 9.54.01 PM.png

The last time our atmosphere had these levels of CO2 was in the Pliocene era. Average temperatures on earth were 2-3 degrees hotter and sea levels were 25m higher. That's what we are headed for. We are now in uncharted territory and the implications are dire.

'We Don't Know a Planet Like This': CO2 Levels Hit 415 PPM for First Time in 3 Million+ Years

Similar graph(s) that was trending last week, only it's decades old!

Predictions by ExxonMobil in the late 80s that atmospheric CO2 levels would reach about 415 ppm around now and we did cross the same! Something the coal corporations had known all this time........! :mask: #Unbelievable

Am also joining this debate on global warming.

It is indeed a threat to life on this wonderful planet! This is why we need to act right now. Policies have been made, mitigation have been proposed but we are reluctant to follow them due to rapid industrialization and the greed for attaining economic supremacy..

US, the second largest emitter, has even opted out of the Paris agreement on climate change as it could not afford to meet the target set by the convention..

The only way to combat global warming is shutting down of coal fired plants and total boycott of petrol/diesel vehicles. But can we even survive without these two? The answer at the most optimistic state is a faint 'yes' if we start action from now on.

Solar, Nuclear fusion and hydrogen fuel cells are the front runners and most promising alternatives when it comes to yield, feasibility and safety..I sincerely wish large scale commercialization of these three technologies due to these simple reasons
    • There is not end product in solar powered plants.
    • Neutrons and Helium nuclei are the end products of nuclear fusion reaction!
    • Water is the end product of hydrogen fuel cell!

Elon Musk has already started pursuing them and thats why I love him!!!!

    1) All vehicles should be converted into electric vehicle by 2030.
    2) Coal-firing should be banned at least in a year or two
    3) Residents should be mandated to have solar panel in their roof generating at least 30% to 40% energy on their own
    4) All manufacturing facilities should use 100% energy sources from solar, hydrogen fuel cells, geothermal and nuclear fuel through a legislation
    5) Use of petrol and diesel should be reduced every year until it becomes at least single digit contribution to the total energy consumption in the world.
    6) Every technology that reduces CO2 emission should be made tax free for the next 10 years
