    Episode 1:

My dear ladies, I have started a new story and do not even have the least idea of how it is going to be. Just wrote the very first episode. Let me know your thoughts on it. I will be happy to know. : )

Tulasi stood behind the curtain holding her breath. She kept three of her fingers on her lips and kept watching them behind the curtain. She took a shallow breath. No time for deep breath.

She peeped slowly in that same pose. They were 6 in total and another one joined them. Tulasi kept looking at them. All 7 were enjoying their breakfast. Seems like they loved food.

But yesterday only 5 of them were there. May be they were always 7 but I couldn't see them yesterday?

Tulasi stood as such for 10 minutes. She was tired of holding her breath and slowly she took a deep breath making sure that the curtains don’t sway. The curtains were too thin for her deep breath. The swayed slightly but they were busy with their breakfast and Tulasi watched them carefully.

    “Tulasiiii……” – Her grandmother called.

Tulasi didn’t move a bit. She stood as such watching them.

“May be they are a family?”

“2 boys and 4 girls?!! Friends?”
    – Tulasi wondered.

“What are you doi….?” – before her grandmother finished, she saw Tulasi.

“Shh!!!!” – Tulasi looked at her with a stern face.

“Oh! Am Sorry!” – Her grandmother lowered her voice and moved back.

Tulasi kept looking at them and few moved away after the breakfast.

Only two were left! Maybe they liked the food so much that they didn’t want to leave.

As Tulasi kept looking at them, a big towel fell down from the cloth line and they both flew away instantly!

“Grandmaaa……Why didn’t you clip the towel properly?”- Tulasi walked towards the kitchen

“Why dear?” – Her grandma smiled

“The towel fell down and all the sparrows flew away!” – Tulasi said with a sad face.

“They are going to come again! Don’t worry” - Her grandma smiled.

“I know” – Tulasi showed her teeth

“Come on! They had their breakfast! Now you have yours” – Tulasi was given her most-loved fermented porridge and small onions.

Tulasi started enjoying her breakfast while her grandma packed her lunch box.

“Grandma…..” – Tulasi called in between relishing her taste buds.

“Yes dear” – Her grandma smiled.

“Did you have your breakfast?” – Tulasi

“Of course! My breakfast was over” – Her grandma smiled as she placed her lunch box in the plastic wire bag which she herself made for her granddaughter.

“You said its good to feed someone every day before you eat! But You ate before feeding anyone else?” – Tulasi asked and kept looking at her.

“What do you think the Kolam (Rangoli) on the entrance?” – The elder one smiled again. May be the smile always lingers on her face.

“It looks nice” – Tulasi’s tender fingers pointed towards the entrance.

“Come here” – The elder one took the younger one holding the tender fingers.

    Both stood beside the Kolam.

“See! The ants are eating the rice flour! I have already fed someone before I eat for myself” – Grandma looked at Tulasi.

“You are feeding these many ants and am just feeding 6 sparrows every day?” – Tulasi was jealous.

“You will get more sparrows tomorrow! Wait and watch” – The grandma smiled as she touched Tulasi’s chin.

“but you are feeding more people and then me” – Tulasi said seriously.

“Even you can! But get ready now! Its time for school” – Grandma took her in as she kept looking at the ants on the Kolam.

“Tulasi! III standard B section from today” – Her grandma smiled.

Tulasi smiled as she took her new bag and new shoes. It was as if a fresh start of everything. The first day of school.

“Grandma! You forgot to change your nightie...” – Tulasi smiled showing her teeth.

“Oh my God! I forgot! I will come now” – Grandma rushed inside the bedroom and came out in a green cotton saree and maroon blouse.

“Lets go!” – Grand ma said and both walked hand in hand.

P.S : Getting into touch after a long gap, So forgive me for mistakes if there are any. Thanks in advance! : )

Welcome back dear..... Its sooooo good to see another story from you, can't wait to read more. Proved once again your skill in writing with small suspences.

Trying to correlate the title with start of story to think how is it will proceed, but you surely will have your own twists and turns. Waiting eagerly for more.
