Please consult your doctor for medical advice. Please don't depend on answers from internet.

Can you call advice nurse and ask them ? I'm not a meat eater but from what I have read as long as the meat is well cooked it should be fine. You should avoid raw food but otherwise everything else should be ok.

If you are carving then have it but limited quantity which are well cooked. It's not only the infection but also high amount of Vitamin A which is not good for the baby.

I too had the carving during my first pregnancy but after having once or twice my mind was scared when I read too much Vitamin A is not good...

OP, Best is to phone your doctor's office and check with doctor. Avoid checking health tips from internet till delivery.

    Hi,
Mutton liver is rich in iron. I did have it when I was pregnant. Even after delivery i had it as it gives good amount of iron. But make sure it’s cooked properly with lots of pepper , pearl onions & garlic.

Animal livers are rich in folic acid. That is probably the reason your elders are advising you to include it in your diet. Folic acid is a critical nutrient during early pregnancy, 4-12 weeks. It prevents spinal and neural defects in the fetus like Spina Bifida. If you take a prenatal vitamin with at least 400 mcg of folic acid you are covered. if not then please start ASAP. While you can get folic acid from animal livers in this case it is not safe to rely on food sources alone. If you are craving it then definitely eat it. Pregnancy cravings are signals from your body for missing nutrients. Doesn't hurt to pay attention to them even if only to keep the mind happy and sated. Good luck!
