Silence is golden. But not always. It could be considered as a sign of maturity/dignity or on the other hand it could be understood as an admission of guilt.

I am greatly pained to have to write this post. I did not want to write it since I did not consider it dignified for me to write any kind of rebuttal to the allegations levelled against the moderators of this forum (and in particular at me, since I have been doing this job since the last 22 months with occasional breaks). I shall not say anything about what happened, because I know that many have been forwarded the PMs which went between the admin, moderators and the aggrieved member.

All I want to say is that it is her perception. The facts are here for all to see (listed at the end).

About 6 members have got the prize twice so far during a span of 22 months. I don't know whether that is called 'partisan' treatment. I have not met one of these members so far. There is no valid reason for me to favour someone or to hold any kind of grouse against another, when I know all of you here only virtually. As for the member concerned, she is extremely gifted, has given us some fabulous posts, but if we give only selected people prizes again and again, it would be unfair for the 100s of other posts which get nominated. Fair opportunity for all and encouragement to our new members is our basic principle in selecting winners. Unless this policy is changed to give only the most gifted contributors prizes by rotation, we have to understand that things will continue to be as they are. When we are accused of some wrong doing (wilful or unknowingly done), we can try to correct it. But when one does their level best without any malicious intent, there is nothing one can do to change it. One can only do one's best. Anyway judges are in the unenviable position of being judged both ways. It is a no win situation.

If any of you think we have any favourites/non-favourites, I'd like to put that impression to rest and do hope we do not have to face such painful allegations again.

Endeavouring to do our best for all who are here.

Thanks a lot Vijima. Your support really means a lot to us. It has been a very painful experience and I hope to put it behind me as soon as possible.

    :hello::hello::hello:
I am sad & glad too with the present status and believe that things would progress as hitherto unhindered.
I do not feel any valid reason to revise the recognition method and the underlying principle of attempting to reward first of the contributions from new members and encourage them to continue with IL.
“The title for the month “ for the best contribution awarded to .....
I would suggest the use of word “prize” be dropped as it connotes something physical .
Seniors BY LENGTH OF THEIR STAY IN IL and by age generally participate for satisfying their inner urge to share their experience and opinions and they may not anticipate or even periodical recognition and they on their own volition and health permits would continue to contribute by post and FBs.
In the thread of our IL professor @Viswamitra
    Appreciation For The Fellow Ilites
The regular contributors almost all have been appreciated by fellow IL’ites which had come deep from their heart and that one should take it as greatest of all awards or prizes as it is called ibid. I am sure none of the contributors would have any qualms about not being rewarded regularly and happy it is awarded to new comers by way of encouragement and make them hooked to IL.
I SHALL BE GLAD IF STATUS QUO MAINTAINED.
LONG LIVE IL AND ITS CONTENT CONTRIBUTORS.

I like to raise questions when I see the need. A forum like this where majority come to vent their problem or to get a workable solution for a problem they could not find solution themselves, a sympathetic reply would be the finest post. Or the posts suggesting multiple solutions to their problem(s). Many posters who take a slice of their valuable time to help a fellow member on a regular/every day basis are all winners in my view. So this Junior, Senior, Silver, Gold, Platinum, IL hall of fame, FP winner, type ribbons and designations might be needed for KG/Pre School audience but not in a mature forum like this where most posters are college educated and beyond. Such unnecessary hierarchy might end up cheapening genuine helper's value. I might have upset the authorities for speaking my mind, so if this post disappears, I understand why.

I have read few of Satchidananda's posts in snippet section. A gifted writer like her is burdened with reading every month several nominations just to pick two winners. Her own contribution suffers while doing this assessment which is mostly unneeded and her posts cannot be FP winners, I find such exercise as an unneeded red tape which could be avoided in online fora!

If the above is not acceptable, I have another suggestion. Instead of selecting 2 winners, why don’t all FP posts get a mention, so readers can read them all and we move on. Reduces burden on Satchi as well.

:hello:It would be A good idea to indicate the name of the judge who adjudged and announced the winner or winners in the index of winning posts .
    Thanks and Regards.

Thanks for that suggestion sir, but I don't think we can be detailing the functioning of all the work that goes on. This is already something we do out of our love for this site and all the members here. The least we can expect is some trust and hope that members have confidence in our integrity.

When one has lingered and experienced coming-of-age in the forum through the trials and life stories of each other, they tend to not just be in awe of the clocked ticks but regard beyond those ticks in the clockwork sounding those ticks. Beyond that spic clockwork (to sustain those eventful ticks!) in this forum are two friendly and accessible patrons who have inspired many here on team work. Between them both they shared an eye and a spine. When one heaves, the other rises never destabilizing the punctual activity here.

I often wondered, if this coordinated team is unique in that they are cherished for their conjoined spirit ...upholding that finest clockwork through painstaking ..pro bono what-not.

The forum is distinctive because of the temperaments of these patrons who never yield to their own hardship in favor of community cheer.

Cheeniya and Satchitananda, you both have committed to the forum out of goodwill. Not many would have undertaken such a philanthropic commitment. But you both have acted upon it with much public-spirit. They say, never utter 'sorry' in vain but no one told anything about 'thank you'. Surely, a surplus gratitude befits your work here. Thank you both for your time and sentiment behind this finest initiative. You both are our finest in IL.
