Dear ladies, When I was in London, south east asia suffered the worst tsunami attack. It was really great the sympathy shown by Londoners and there were many fund raising movements. I wrote this poem by the spur of the moment and showed it to my British colleagues. They recommended me to present in a fund raising function organised by English Poets' Association in North London. When I presented this poem every one appreciated it and told it is straight from the heart. I want to share the poem with you here. Oh, Indian ocean! what wrong did we do? We went to your beaches to get air But you have taken the wind out of us Our children were happily collecting pebbles You have reduced them to rubbles We thought you will make our civilisation to flourish and with your riches you will nourish But you have chosen us to perish Oh, Indian ocean! what wrong did we do?
Dear Tamil Heart felt indeed. Also heart -rending if we visualise children collecting pebbles being washed away. Did you write or think-up this poem in tamil? If so, please post that too. Manjula
Dear tamil, yes it does touch a chord in the heart...like i have alraedy said, you write with such simple words, but so straight from your heart direct to the reader's mind/heart! in our dancing vocabulary....you create RASA in the reader, and that is the ultmate in communication in our field when we can make the onlookers feel what we feel.....so you seem to have that gift ...so carry on non stop!
Dear Tamildownunder, Wow, that is really a beautiful poem and a heart felt one too... :2thumbsup: Keep up the good work. Jothi.
