It's been 11+ years since I've started my FB account, and I do have friends from almost all over the places (as you know that i am in an International profession; hence i roam to diff countries for work, so meet diff new ppls etc...)
So 900 friends in my FB is not much.... And the other 300+ were varified last time when i took time to cleanse my FB account. Perhaps there could be much more too.

    Remembering my dad's bro...
When i was about to assume duty with the UN (knowing the amount of international travelling required) and everyone at home gave me their fullest support to pursue my dream career, but my uncle had some comments to my dad. He said, "once you have a daughter, there is never a nothing to worry state"

But my dad's response was like.... " as a parent, I can never stop worrying about my children, but my worry should not stop them from living their life or pursuing their ambitions.

I know... There is never a nothing to worry state in anything...
Men abuse in public transport, aeroplanes fall down, natural disaster happens, yet we live, travel and have hopes for tomorrow.

FB can be worrisome to some, but not for everyone, and not everytime...
Nothing to worry means, take it as it comes, but with caution.

Hey @shravs3 , You are a sweet heart !
Rightfully ,this what you should be doing , but given that you still need to check on your and your room mate compatibility issues , shouldn't you hold back your answer to be decided on the future behavior of the concerned! :smilingimp:

In fact may i suggest you drop in the quote @Amulet ,forewarn the room mates about keeping up with your expectations :beer-toast1::clapclap::clapclap:!!

Infact, this aniticipation of future issues is one hell of a killing two birds with one stone for both the thread yours and for the one facing the live in dilemma :roflmao:

I dunno ,why i thought it being out of context and posting it here:icon_pc::hollering:

Anusha, That advice of yours was good. My short term memory is still working well enough.
When counsellors see a set of common underlaying features for a problem or an issue, they could see a "class" for a class action:tonguewink::
    1. Married 10 ± few years.
    2. Have 2 ± 1 child.
    3. Husband is a good-to-excellent provider.
    4. Husband is a good-to-excellent father
    5. Husband is/is-not influenced by his relatives
    6. Husband is/is-not having an affair
    7. Husband is/is-not too busy with work
    8. Husband not talking to me, or having much sex.
    9. Husband is/is-not physically abusing me.
    10. We never go out ---> to eat, to the cinema, for walks in the park, etc..
The top four are necessary conditions to come into the "class", and then one may have a few additional optional things from the bottom 6.

“A woman must have money and a room of her own if she is to write fiction.”
    --Virginia Woolf

I happened to remember that in a recent conversation with a friend. The phrase "room of her own" is broadly interpreted as her-own-space, her-own-world, her-own-unique-something; so that, she can find her own self-expression, i.e., "write fiction". The dependence on someone else, like a bf, Sig'Other, husband, or a child, to perform in some requisite manner to keep her happy/pleased, would end up in frustration and failure.

As for money, YES. One should have sufficient, under one's own control. This is often the first thought of posters when responding to a post from a girl describing her distress in a collective family.

It was from own experience. " When you can't solve a problem (With hubby , in laws etc ) just ESCAPE from it. My escape mechanism always works.

With all due respect to you and our 3000 year old tradition : we are not entirely right :)
Our 3000 year old tradition worked perfectly well 3000 years ago. Mostly because women were dependent on the men . Things have changed since then. Women have opinions, women have needs and women need emotional and physical chemistry in a marriage. The role of man being the bread winner of the family has changed , we bring in loaves of bread into the home as well. So there is less of a reason to stick around in a marriage where the man is not all there.
So what is wrong if a woman and a man decide to live together to see if they are compatible? Better than a lifetime of unhappiness in a bad marriage.
Sorry if my views offend you. It is better if you get used to women like me. My views are probably in tune with what the future generation in India will adopt .

No I am not happy. This is like taking away the book before the last chapters are read. Lots of kwestins remain unanswered. The thread would end like a foreign movie, all of a sudden, and leave the audience wondering what happind, why the lights suddenly came on in the theater.
    • Was the mattress purchased during the Mem'Day 2019 sales?
    • Did mummyji visit, and what did she find out ?
    • What were the sleeping arrangements when a visit (mummyji, dH) happind?
    • Where is the final wedding scene?
    • Were all the previous roommates invited ?
    • And the bridegroom - mattress-man or a different one?
    • If different, did "his" former roommate come to the wedding ?
    • .... and as they say in all teasers..."so much more"

Because a confused Indian guy supposedly following our 3000 year old culture put the lights on in the theater
