Yes I belong to that unlucky category of oily skin. My face is very oily and suffering from acne especially near the jaw and chin. I have tried so many remedies including the famous haldi besan curd mixture, orange peel, ointments and even visited few dermatologists. But no luck! Also mine is sensitive skin, if I try any new makeup products my face breakouts easily. I have tried cucumbers too but no luck sometimes after applying it makes more oily. Surprised isn’t it? Me too... I have also tried Multani mitti but I feel it somewhat darkened my complexion. So stopped it. Also I have this weird complexion where my face is almost 5 times darker when compared to hands and legs which are very fair. May be it is tanned skin which is exposed to sun. I do apply sun screen during summers but no idea why the mismatch! I also suffer from oily scalp. May be both are interlinked. So can you please give me some tips to escape this oiliness. I hate it!
@shravs3 , Even i had thought that oily skin is not good and my family memebers would tell that at any given point of time we can extract good amoynt of oil from your face. I have oily skin too. First get a proper treatment for your acne. In one of the threads gauri had shared a link about treating acne. Thats the exact procedure which i followed. I took the treatment in my college days. Once you take the treatment you will not get much acne. After that you can follow a routine. Applying tomato juice will help. Wash your face thrice a day.
Have u tried applying tea tree oil? I too get cystic acne during that time of the month around my jaw and chin. I usually apply tea tree oil or turmeric mixed with green gram flour. The acne usually dries within a day. Also, use a gentle cleanser which contain salycilic acid twice a day to prevent breakouts.
Thanks for the tips @Paripoorna. Can you please post the link or the procedure. I am not aware of that thread
Dear @shravs3 Oily face could be due to lot of reasons.... Reduce deep fried items.... Drink lot of water. .. Wash your face gently once you are back from outside, this helps in removing the dirt and oily particles....
I had oily face during my teens and always suffered from boils.I used to snack on fried foods. No dermatologist was able to help me until I made small life style changes.I just eat everything in moderation and exercise regularly. Take care of what goes into your tummy, also drinking lemon water (lemon juice mixed with water) helps as it strengthens the immune system, cleanses the tummy and purifies blood thus preventing acne.
Thanks for the tips Veena. You are so true, what goes inside is proportional to the external skin health. I used to drink lemon juice intermittently. I should restart soon
