Bollywood is full of kids who are already from the film fraternity.

Sometimes feel we give so much money for tickets to watch these kids?

I understand the talent and beauty which made the following heroines superstars...

    Sridevi,hemamalini,madhubala,aishwarya,madhuri,leena chandavarkar,vyjayantimala,padmini,
    Savithri,dimple,juhi,khushboo,
Nayantara and even silk smitha(who was really really sensuous) ,Helen, sharmila tagore, deepika, katrina etc..they were REALLY good...be it the face or talent or physique

Some of the women though not conventionally beautiful like the above but were really attractive and they are kajol, karishma, kareena, urmila and manisha..

    Nowadays we have..

Alia Bhatt, parineeti, shraddha, sonakshi who are like cute maybe but definetly neither as talented or sensuous like the above..

Heard Alia Bhatt is an amazing actress but not watched much of her movies but still she is a like a school kid..

Parineeti tries too hard with her clothes and weight loss but preferred her originality..

Shradda ..meh she is fine but again missing the oomph factor

Sonakshi..like her personality and the way she talks but as an actress or someone with heroine looks..not sure

Wish nepotism dies and they do a proper audition and bring in the outsiders so that we can cherish real talent and beauty.

    Just a fun thread:)

No doubt nepotism exits I'm Bollywood but after a film or two it's the talent which they need to keep them going..
In case of Alia I agree she got her first movie easily and she is did horrible acting in her first movie but going forward she really mended her acting skills and with every movie she's improving .
Had she continued her student of the year acting in other movies today we would have forgotten who Alia is .So at the end of the day it takes talent to survive whether they are star kids or ordinary people entering Bollywood .
Case of Kangna : pure talent, outsider, struggled a lot to reach where she is today. Again her case is she's surviving purely because of Talent and nothing else.
Few failures of nepotism : junior bachan(he is talented but constant comparison with dad has somehow overshadowed his talent ), Esha deol, Harman Baweja so many others.
Now these star kids also carry a lot on their shoulders . They are constantly compared to their super star parents and the moment they are little less in talent the audience just don't accept them.. It's a lot of competition and requires immense talent to survive.
Having said that yes we wish real talent is brought into the industry and nepotism should reduce but sadly you and me can't do much about it as audience. All we can do is not watch certain movies if the actor is not talented or the script not being good. .

Just for fun opinion: The idiot(s) who put(s) down the money, want a return. The multiplex cinemas who'd agree to screen the bioscope would want easy-to-recognize faces, item numbers, and early-release songs already popular on FM radio, so that they could get the fans to buy tickets. These two are the major vested interests who want the "known" names and faces.
Financing and getting a return is a tough game. Nepotism is really not in the top few that could concern anyone who matters.

There are many actors who are not from filmy background but they are very talented.
Nepotism not only exists in Bollywood it exists in our very own South industry.
Sometimes I feel just because that person belongs to a family from film industry does that person make a good actor?? May be or may not!

I do feel there are other actors who do great job inspite of coming from different background.

Kangana spoke boldly about it at several occasions targeting all the star kids who are stars now.

So true! If not for sridevi..jhanvi would not be in Bollywood.

Kangana called a spade a spade!! Love her and thank god for putting that karan johar in place! They may all hate on her but she nails it.

I feel the new breed of actors are so boring..

Now politicians children are becoming stars straightly. Least the actors children have thier parents Gene wrt acting.
So many south indian actors are from political background. Eg udhayanidhi Stalin don't ever see his movie 0 talent 0 acting skills. Another his cousin.
