Lol... I expected this response from someone here. Thanks yellow mango for not disappointing me. Choice is a favourite word when it's a non Hindu oppressive belief.

As devotees take Deeksha of 40 days by following Pooja etc, staying away from women one of that. It is a considerable truth, getting attracted to any woman. As they run through that phase successfully to that end and keeping the way clear with that rule, And they hadn't restricted of all ages to support that opinion.

Also, men are restricted nearly 6 temples in India Attukal, Kerala (as I remember) is one of that, I was surprised when I visited.

It's not about discrimination, pinching someone's sentiments/belief, politics more I can see.. ---- JMO

When we were told We don’t have a right to decide what or who is wrong ..now how can you decide stopping entry is wrong?
Again and again strongly saying we should not decide this and that but you are deciding what opinions we should have.we are not deciding anything but stating what we feel.

We women who are supporting sabarimala are neither uneducated or
    Extremely conservative.

We just want certain traditions to stay the way it is.Lot of devotees are here and lord ayyapa is a source of our confidence to many.

All we ask is do not disrupt it.Thats all.

Also calling names like goons etc etc is right from the other side but we are bashed if we give our opinions.

Anyways,We will respect your opinions and except us to be understood too.Lets discuss more peacefully.

Maybe having grown up listening to songs and Poojas and entire men in family going to sabarimala, undergoing tough vrat makes me feel perturbed.

Maybe I put it rather strongly.will tone down.

Nobody is deciding what your opinion should be. Why can’t your opinion be of yourself? Why should it include other women and what they should shouldn’t do?

My dad and uncle have gone year after year. Uncle is a guru swamy. We all followed all the rituals properly. Even we followed the vratham with our men.
In my generation, DH, cousins etc started bending the rules. Guru swamis are ok with men just following the 40 day rule the first time they go. Then subsequently, they can follow the vratham for as little days as their choosing. My DH himself goes in the morning, wears the mala and visits the temple in the evening and gets back. Reason - in his job it’s just not possible to complete the vratham. Same for everyone in my family. Things are not what they were when I was growing up. We have to accept changes.

Btw - vandalizing the place and making sure women going per SC ruling are not allowed entry etc aren’t marks of true devotees.

In my family, men are very strict about the vrat.

My dad till his last days went to sabarimala and is an ardent devotee. The way he felt about the lord is beyond words to express.

Those women were some activists who were trying to prove a point. That’s all.
Vandalizing is not a mark of true devotees..similarly,a true devotee will abide by the tradition keeping god in mind and not sneak in no matter what the court says.

I am just stating my opinion.Thats what I have been doing from the start.I never accused other members in this forum
And wrote what I felt and was answering respectfully.

Certain members using words like “who are you to decide?” in a rude manner did tick a nerve.Like how you feel it is right to be flexible with the customs,I felt it was fine to abide by the customs.

I also mentioned let’s decide and discuss respectfully.

Nothing justifies the vandalism that is happening now. No the Bhaktas of Lord Ayyappan will not do that. It doesn't justify bhakthi to the Lord.
Because some women entered the temple as they were allowed to doesn't make them an activist or we can't judge them saying they are feminists or pseudo feminists. They wanted to get the darshan of the Lord so they went. We as a society should accept that it's absolutely fine and can't bring violence into picture .
All the previous argument on why women were not allowed, the difficulty in keeping the vrath , the difficulty in reaching the shrine, everything is debatable. But with times humans need to change and adapt to the change. Now there is every thing that is in favour of a women to reach the shrine and have the Darshan of the Lord. So we need to accept the change.
PS. I'm not an atheist and I believe and pray God everyday and keep him in my journey all the time.and lord Ayyappan is my Kuladeivam till I got married. I have worshipped him and still continue to do so in my path for the rest of my life . God for me exists in the form of energy and I surrender myself to that energy but that doesn't make me accept the wrongdoings of the people who are showing that they are true devotees of the Lord by protesting and harming fellow human beings .
Those who want to go should be allowed. Others have no right to protest on that..

Someone here compared entering sabarimala to widow wearing white saree and sati sahagman dude chill out nobody is burning if not visited to temple!! If it wouldve that serious where were they all these years? Just that now SC removed ban under stupidity people are talking about change! Bringing change to Burning wife alive when husband dies has nothing to do with mid age women entering sabarimala!! As an ardent Ayyappa devotee i I pray and believe that sabarimala royal family and pradan tantri and other devotees they protect the purity of such sacred place!!
