How do you know other women are not interested?
How will normal women dare to go if the goons are patrolling and dragging them out of vehicles and humiliating them?
Why do you assume for all hindu women ?

As this discussion tends to get acrimonious, please remember two things:
The Supreme Court has given a judgement.
Appeals are pending. So the matter is subjudice.
We in IL will have to refrain from escalating this to a verbal war.
    Please cooperate.

Treating a large population of hindu women as enemies ( by not letting them have the option) is more likely to encourage conversions.

The biggest reason for conversion was another form of discrimination called casteism . Distrimination against younger women is also discrimination.
People who are acting like goons and showing their ugly side are the reason most progressive moderate people will turn away from our religion.

These were the same arguments that were used when temple entry proclamation came into place and lower castes were allowed inside.

Temples like Guruvayoor were closed for years because it was against traditions. But finally they opened and guess what traditions changed and the temple survived
You cannot assume for an entire gender what is the place for what

I wish there's a dislike button for this..

I am willing to wait but I am disturbed to see that this is becoming a 'conspiracy' issue ...

We have progressed much beyond this and at the drop of a hat, we bring other religion into this?

Its people from your own religion belief system who questioned, and went..

I repeat, I am willing to wait, I believe triple talaq is unfair, I will not take the holy communion but I am not convinced that these are connected . Play fair.. Our parents spent so much to educate us so we can broaden our views.. .

In my humble opinion.. Nuns should have the right to marry? They should also experience motherhood. Why should they live in seclusion and bear the indignity of getting raped by priests? Let's protest. This is not in one church but world over. Why are the feminists not fighting for the nun's right to go to a pub or get married and have kids? And they cannot become priests. How can humans decide such a fate? God would never have wanted this. Its a tradition madam. A man made tradition which is not being questioned anywhere in the world by the proudest of all feminists. The question is not just sabarimala but the hypocrisy of certain people.

Wow...Anika dear you have created a hot thread here :)
As I first stated, though I support the women entry to the Temple, it's really disturbing to watch the recent events...the way they are trying to do it in the name of women rights. I believe when we use the law to try and force the religion to enter the modern world,it is dangerous... I maybe wrong... But where were all these people in the case of that poor nun,who really needed and could use some support? Anyway don't want to discuss more politics here..

Anika, did you read Laks reply... Made much much sense to me...Your(or any one's for that matter)relation with God is unique and it is not based on who goes there or who is not... Your traditions and the beliefs you followed all these years... you should hold on to it...But don't stress about others... If they believe these traditions and beliefs are to change and worth fighting for,let them do it. Let's hope, they too will find their peace at the end of their journey.

This ' whataboutism' doesn't help the argument.

Besides....this is not even a right comparision.
Women can choose to not be nuns .
Hindu women can not choose to not be 11-50 yrs old.

    Anika,
I liked your post because I thought you made a valid point in saying, if they are believers, they would respect the custom . But why disturbed? How is your belief in the deity going to be affected? All these religions survived these many years because they underwent changes according to the times. What makes you a Hindu or UnHindu you?
Hinduism is a way of life.. Its the individuals who have to make the decision to wait or not..
