I think it is to do with disruption to 40 days mandala ritual as well as maintaining celibacy of the lord

Most of the reasons or arguments that people spread now a days are just attempts to find justifications. Anyone who are brought up in conservative Hindu Society knows how Hindu rituals and temple access are related to woman .

These women, who called themselves activists, wanted to enter the temple not because of their faith in God, but to insult tradition, and their beliefs.

Humble suggestion it is worth the wait. Kindly don’t allow a few misguided women to disturb Ayyappan’s meditation and destroy a beautiful tradition.

At the end of the day, a temple is not just made by an idol. It is the belief system, the devotees and the devotion along with idol that makes a temple.

SC verdict doesn't mean, we get every right to do . we should use our brains effectively.

I for one was initially against the entry of women in sabarimala. But later after research, i found that women have entered sabarimala before the 1991 verdict and even after that they have been a few women who have entered though it was not known to general public.

However, that said, there are a few devotees who genuinely seem to want to have Swamy Ayyappa's darshan. I am not against them entering the temple too. I wish they have their darshan soon.

All this hue and cry in the media is being made by the women who are atheists themselves, women fighting for so called equality rights (not sure which rights they are fighting for?), women from other religions who want to malign the faith of Hindu's. I am against these people.

Yes, i am disturbed by all the violence that is occurring due to this. Kerala is the one of the few states in recent times which is undergoing a religion crisis (i can vouch for this since my inlaws are stay here). The Hindu population is decreasing slowly and gradually here.

And the worst part is that Lord Ayappa's temple is being caught inbetween these religious disagreements and the sad result is what we are seeing on the TV.

I wouldn't personally enter the temple until i am over 50 but i wouldnt stop a true devotee either. I believe its their choice. However, i do have a HUGE problem with the so called feminists here!

The people who are talking about equality when it comes to sabarimala will defend triple talak as a religious requirement. The motivation here is a very big question.

Muslim society which practices talaq, women have no existence .A man can leave a woman at any time because of any issue , which is much more bigger issue than sabarimal issue.

Triple talaq "is a cruel and most demeaning form of divorce."

Well said its mostly the corrupted minds are doing this to disturb the traidition and decades long culture of the temples!! Most of them are media related want to do only to create nonsense and degrade the rules. Wben pradan tantri and pandalam royal family decline the visit of women they should respect it. Its mostly the other caste women under the name of equality blah blah want to malign the culture! Every temple hold some kind of rules and regulations and so does people should follow why create ruckus and to prove what? If those women are that powerful they wont sneak first and second after darshan they wont hide from public and be under police protection and they also must have been happy knowing that a person is dead under all this hartal as he got hurt! Go women go! This is how you guys empower! I heard there is a muslim women and also one christian women tried to enter couple of months back these people they cant fight in their under their own roof wants to bring equality by entering and degrading the hindu culture! my foot

I think true devotee will follow the tradition irrespective of the law. I am not religious myself so I would not bother to make so much effort to enter the temple. These women scoffing at tradition are clearly not true devotees. In my experience pious Hindus follow ritual and tradition rigidly.

I had similar heated argument with my father :)
Here is my take on anything related to religious practice..

Once upon a time, Sathi(Johar) practice was considered as very pure one, highly prestigious and women who did were considered as pativratas.. When they tried to stop Sati, it was not easy..
What do u think about Sati now ? after 100 years we are analysing the reasons like, thats unacceptable, protecting women from other mens etc.. But it was very Hindu belief. No one following that now..

And in 1950s and all hair shaving, White saree was mandatory for all Widows.. What happened now? DO we accept that? Thats definitely religious practice.. Like this i can give many more example...

This is a change.. every religion takes different form based on the Society and people.. And every change faces lots and lots of opposition in the beginning.. Slowly things will fall in place.. No religion will die just because of these changes.. it will take another mature form and will grow..

This is a time for Sabrimala to enter such change...
