All forms in existence arise from pure formless potentiality. Many sages call that as Emptiness, The Tao, Brahman, Allah, God, while science may refer to it the zero-point field or field of potential. Holographic technology is just an exotic extension of the infamous double split experiment, though it uses coherent laser beams to create an interference pattern, which in this case is a holographic image. The interference pattern contains all the information necessary to reconstruct a visual image of the original object. Cut the holographic plate in half, and the image still remains on each half although with slightly reduced resolution. The significant point here is that a large amount of research suggests the brain manages information in a similar fashion.

A hologram analogy is valid, not only for the visual sense, but for all senses as well, it seems. The brain (and every cell of the body) is a quantum device. And every quantum entity has both a local (particle) and a nonlocal (wave) aspect. Prodigious amounts of information can be carried in this holographic manner including – theoretically, the entire space/time history of the learning organism. In other words, the totality of our physical and subjective experience can be thought of as a multimedia hologram resonant with ourselves and the zero-point field.

Having dealt with how ultimate reality becomes apparent reality, let us focus our attention to the life journey of Me and Mine (“M & M”). Normally, we remain body conscious most of the time with the ability to be soul conscious for short periods of time. A spiritually awakened person no more identifies with the body, while living in the body and performing all its functions and activities. This person has lost sense of “I”, “Me” and “Mine”. This person’s ego has dissolved completely. Such a person eliminates duality and achieves total equanimity unaffected by the events happening around this person. What are the symptoms of a person who has spiritually awakened? Let us review them briefly.

This person loses the identity of the body, mind and intellect despite performing all actions normally, they are all performed with no attachment. He may continue to possess wealth, name, fame, friends and relations, etc. but losing any of them will have no effect in his feelings. He will begin using the power of inner-self and never struggle to obtain ratification from anyone for his action. Fear, jealousy, hatred, animosity, greed or any other negative force has no place in his life and remains very humble with no superiority with the fellow-beings. All thoughts other than noble thoughts disappear from his mind and he becomes full of love, kindness and compassionate towards all humans, animals, birds and plants. He is careful not to destabilize the environment around him and enjoys the nature. He is always happy and spreads happiness around to all fellow beings. He doesn’t point out imperfections of others and always respect beliefs and opinions of others. He doesn’t control anyone as he believes in controlling himself. He has substantial tolerance and hence accept all types of people, things, situations and circumstances unconditionally. He speaks rarely and prefer to observe silence mostly and when he speaks, it is sweeter.

How can we get into this domain of supreme existence? The regular practice of meditation connects us to the super-conscious realm that imparts us its divine attributes. Regular meditation and prayers are potent methods of achieving spiritual evolution. Those who have the appetite to learn from those who had achieved these feet before could read and learn that from their experiences. It is a universal law that what goes around comes around and therefore, one must express unconditional love to others in order to receive it back from the universe. This exercise connects our self with the self of others, connecting to the cosmic divine realm. Oneness of all beings is realized in our minds. Our attitude of judging people based on a standard benchmark, firmly established in our subconscious mind often creates never ending dialogue in our mind, which is expressed in views, opinions and perspectives. This causes a lot of stress and unhappiness in us. Observing silence daily for a period increases the mental strength to reduce unnecessary thoughts produced by the mind because more we speak, the more thoughts we create in our dialogues. The inner dialogue gets considerably reduced, if we practice silence.

Renunciation is a big word that scares most and makes one think of retiring into the forest in total pursuit of divinity in isolation. In fact, most of the actions we need to perform are series of small actions to refine our character to enhance our quality of living and achieve peace. Everything should be done in moderation. Every step we make each day is like cutting a gem stone and eventually, it is bound to become precious.

A magnificent majestic article of matchless mastery that has emanated from the pen of a person who likes to be extricated from the feelings of M and M ( Me and Mine)
Human mind is wired with instincts, emotions and sentiments- and that is how man is made of.I have studied in Psychology texts that man is like a tower or Gopuram. The foundation and the broad base represents hundreds of human instints like hunger, thirst etc.As these instincts are satisfied ,there are emotions at the nest higher level, of less width.Crossing the emotions we elevate ourselves through the ladder of higher emotions called sentiments. As we get educated ,maturity sets in Character is formed and once we establish a good character we pass on to the next stage of'Personality Development' which never relates to complexion or physique. To bring him or elevate him to a still higher plane is too nigh a possibility-impossible to 90% of the people, though many crave for the same..It is at this stage( he/she would almost be nearing 70)when one thinks of getting redeemed from M and M .Longing for detachment itself creates a pattern of ego and attachment to the -Me and Mine' concept.

Apart from thoughts there is no such thing called mind.Thought is the nature of mind, and me and mine form a part of it.
If you think deeply, there is no entity called 'world' if you remove every thought.

In deep sleep, there are no thoughts and there is no world. In waking and dream states, there are thoughts and there is a world.
Just as the spider emits the thread( of the web) out of itself and again withdraws it into itself, likewise the mind projects the world out of itself and again resolves it into itself.

When the mind comes out of the Self, the world appears .When the world, appears ( to be real)the SELF does not appear at all. When the SELF shines, there is no world.
When one persistently enquires into the nature of the mind, the mind will automatically leaving the SELF as residue.
    That is called Athma Saakshatkaram.
Pehaps that is what you mean by dissolving'M and M'.
The article itself is like polished jewel shining in and out with the touch of a polishing stone ,the grand touch of the philosopher of IL.
For an ordinary mortal like me, it will be an unrealizable dream to come out of the shackles and bondage. At the most I can enjoy seeing the shining gem polished by Viswa.

Thank u for bringing out so well the concept of 'spiritual awakening'. Although we get inspired and as u say, the wish is there as a person gets older to develop some degree of detachment and learn to be happy in the self, personally have a very long way to go in that direction. Its however nice to hear /read similar talks by our sadhurus which may at least create in us the desire to achieve some level of peace within ourselves.

    Dear Smt. Jayasala:

Thank you for your kind words of appreciation and I am truly humbled as well as overwhelmed. Such encouraging words from someone who I revere and respect, I took it as God's way of guiding me in the right path.

I feel very blessed to know the true meaning of Athma Sakshatkaram. Sri Sathya Sai Baba mentioned in one of this discourses that Mind is like an uninvited guest to a wedding where the bride's family things Mind is invited by the Groom's family and vice versa. Eventually, they get together and inquire the presence of Mind, the Mind disappears from the scene without a trace. He also said in the very same discourse that the world is nothing but what is perceived by our mind and the mind is nothing but cauldron of thoughts. He explained this process is like removing the knots of desires made out of thoughts, in order to make the life/death cycle (cloth) to disappear.

Maslow's theory of economics which Mrs. Srinivasan and I discussed in another thread also indicates that the human nature is to go in the order of priority such as a) physical needs, b) safety needs, c) social needs, d) esteem needs and c) self-actualization (personal growth and development) needs. The British way of giving meager salary for someone at the very early stage of employment, securing the safety of their family needs when they get married and begets children, LTC and club membership to meet their social needs, awards and promotions to meet the esteem needs and retirement benefit when someone is seeking spiritual growth and development is modeled based on this economic theory of Maslow. If a person remains hungry, there is no way he or she can think of spiritual growth and development.

As you rightly pointed out Shusupti is the nearest point to consciousness (thoughtless state) and perhaps, that is why we feel very good when we start the day. There is a proverb in Tamil "Niraikudam thalumbadhu" (the vessel that is full wouldn't make the water come out of the vessel) and you are too humble to call yourself as ordinary mortal. I can't speak for others, but equipped with Psychology background and spiritual knowledge, I believe you probably make much deeper inquiry than what I could even attempt. Thanks, as always, for such a wonderful response as it helps me think deeper to inquire more.

    Dear Smt. Joylokhi,

Thank you for your response. I couldn't agree more on the struggle we encounter when we inquire more into ourselves. The desire for salvation exists forever as we all have come from the same source. We are like an archaeological site. More we dig deeper, a lot we find about ourselves. We come to know that what we perceive as the world is what is being perceived by our mind. The most learned person is one who knows everything about himself.

    Dearest Viswa uncle,

I am awestruck and after reading many times I am beginning to feel like how Kambar felt when he wrote the kambaramayanam (Annam trying to drink a milk from the ocean). I cannot even comment on it as I don’t have knowledge or experience to this extent. However, I felt that my new year resolution would be to achieve what stated in the paragraph 4 and 5 to some extent, at least 20% even.

    Love,
    Vani

    My Dearest Vani,

We are all swimming in the samsara saharam and all of us know our journey ends where we began our journey. Like What Ramana Maharishi said, "life is gifted to find our way home". Sri Sathya Sai Baba said, "we are born to learn not to be born again".

I am attending a six day seminar over six months beginning on January 3rd discussing the book written by Michael A. Singer titled, "Untethered Soul - the journey beyond yourself". You may like to read this book. I am going to buy it myself and also attend the seminar series. The beauty of this seminar is they cover only a certain part and leave a lot of time for us to contemplate and practice it for a month. This is conducted by the Hospice where I volunteer for transitioning patients.

Paragraph 4 and 5 have the essence of our purpose. Meditation and Prayer, Unconditional love, being non-judgmental and observing silence are four major practices that changes the trajectory of our lives.
