Moving to a very cold climate would solve that problem. Otherwise, you need to buy roach traps and set them in every corner. Boric Acid can also be used to kill roaches. They like to eat that powder, and then they bloat up and die.

Keep all your cooked food in closed containers when they are on the counter top.

Initially we used to live in independent house where we used to have lot of cockroaches and when we shifted to apartment they also came with us and literally i used to get irritate when we see those and they spread entire in our entire kitchen. We used lot's of home remedies and local pest control, hit and cockroach gels but nothing worked out.

This is a good ecologically sound way to deal with the roaches, and no chemicals would be involved. You can get some leopard gecko's from pet shops and release them in your house. They also adorn the walls quite nicely.

In India Boric acid can be found in pharmacies, as well as online grocery stores like bigbasket.com. It is also a good powder lubricant for Carrom Boards -- shops that sell carrom boards would also have them. They come in sealed plastic bags within small cardboard boxes. The ready made boric acid mixed with wheat atta balls available in provision shops in India. But one can make it at home easily by suitably miixing it with dough ready for making chap pathi. An excellent repellant. Balls dried up placed near windowsill & other crevices orcracks prevents cockroach in the vicinity.

In America they use Roach Motel, the motels in which roaches check in, but they don't check out.

 

Some places are just very suitable for roaches to flourish in. I also lived for many years in an apartment where there was a pest problem. We found the source of the roaches. They were coming from one bathroom. So we hardly ever used it!!! That and only that kept the roaches away from the rest of the house. No amount of pest control worked. Finally we got fed up and moved out.
