    @kaniths,

    My apologies for missing the green apple of Beatles. I even missed out mentioning the portion of our body in the neck is called, "Adam's apple". My favorites are all sung at the speed of light and I like hard rock.

    I don't want to speak for @Gauri03 but I am a proponent of "no" means "no" and the color makes no difference.

    :hello::hello: I salute your spirit in defending the Apple without tilting the Apple cart rather you have put it in Apple pie order. Doctors seem to be jealous of Apple either washington or gala or from himachal Pradesh because the it is said it prevents Apple eating community from reaching them. Though i do not belong to an apple a day .....i use numerous apps on my phone. I remember the songs in tamil in which Apple do play quite an amorous act. Apple pennay nee yaro.... Thangavelu comedy in kalyanaparisu- Apple juice -
    aattu kahl soup.
    I imagine how Apple eaten by villains on Tamil cinemas biting it without slicing but holding it on tip of glinting knife or sword.
    THANKS AND REGARDS.

    Dear Meena,

    You are missing the important aspect of this snippet i.e. the brain that motivated me to write this snippet. Whether the fruit is thankful to me or not, I am thankful to you for giving me this idea of otherwise dull mind of mine.

    When I went to Shimla in 1985, I was stunned by the beauty of Apple tree as I saw an Apple tree for the first time in my life. The fruits were hanging at reachable height for the human to plug them but none in Shimla bothered. I walked around feeling that gentle freeze and watching it from the Governor's Bangalow down the hill was breath-taking beauty. I was blown away watching people bringing heavy items in their back tied by a rope climbing the hill by foot. It is nice to remember that now.

    Dear Sri Thyagarajan:

    Thank you for your response. Anything taken in moderation is what keeps the interest alive. I just finished writing about my visit to Shimla. I remember both references about Apple in Tamil movies. I am not sure why many poets didn't use Apple that much in their songs but regularly used Aththi in their lyrics. "Aththi paza kannathile killi vidava" "Aththi Kai Kai Kai", etc. Perhaps they considered Apple as not so Tamil fruit. I remember M.N.Nambiar and many others keeping a knife in their hand even though they bite the apple directly. :)

    I have an uncanny feeling that by page#4 the thread will go pear-shaped with me campaigning for grapes and Cheeniya protecting the rights of oranges whilst you are baffled on how an informational thread on apple could ever be encumbered with the plight of the pineapple, by the way, that loaded pineapple fight would have happened earlier between Cheeniya and me just at the turn of page#4.

    You might have to futilely remind us, this is about apple, the apple of Adam and Eve and Jobs and not the pineapple of King Kamehameha. But then the unruly mob that we represent, all the fruity arguments are cherry-picked when our brains go bananas. Are we still at apples? Ok, I will wait.

    My earliest apple tale is the "story of three apples" from the Arabian Nights. Why? Because I didn't understand the earliest known mystery-narrative in literature. Wait.. who gave the apple to whom? Though I was a toothy kid back then whose retention and comprehension of a detective story could be overlooked, I am still afraid to pursue the story again lest I don't grasp it even now as an adult. Whose apple was given to whom by who?

    The Story of the Three Apples

    That's my apple-edged contribution of the day. I will be back when the thread has moved on to severe bloodshot and wrinkled conflicts concerning the proliferation and allure of Bloody Ploughman (Cheeniya) to Granny Smith (Ouroboros).

    @Ouroboros

    The fight about a Mango fruit started when the first family had a competition organized between the children due to Saint Narada. By circumumbulating the parents, the elephant-faced Ganesha won the coveted Mango much to the bitter taste of Lord Muruga, the global trotter.

    I can understand @Balajee's distaste for Apple and taste for banana as he had recently moved to a Saffron state where only banana's are offered to the Lord. Yellow color fruits are considered auspicious even by the Saint CM in that state. @Cheeniya Cheeniya Sir is very protective of his teeth and beard and probably oranges are easier for him to munch without any juice getting into his beard and without any damages to his teeth. Your interest for grapes might have been triggered from wine-tasting experience in Florence.

    I have cherry-picked apple due to Navarathri goody bag discussion among women. There is nothing to complain about "story of the three apples" from Arabian Nights. Even at the age of 64, it is hard for me to read and comprehend what is being conveyed. My first experience with Apple is in Shimla and I am sticking to it. :)

    Dear Lakshmi,

    Big bag of apples with cider donuts, apple butter, apple fudge, apple cider, eh? You have paid a great tribute to the beautiful red fruit that started it all. Steve mentioned about his exploring India in a very young age up North and I am not sure how he missed Guava and Mango orchards. Perhaps, he traveled in Himalayas looking at those medicinal plants and Rudraksha trees.

    If he named his company as "Mango", most of India would have related well with the company and Samsung would have had a tough time selling their phones. :)
