If your goal is bucket-list kind of serious, and you live in America, you may go to Las Vegas, and visit the Clark Country marriage license office. Couples of all kinds come there to get a license, and many are in need of witnesses. You'd hear their story, and be in the wedding, however they had planned it, and sign the papers for them. Perhaps even many selfies with them.

Arey baba... it is dress rehearsal for spreading it in marriage. :grinning:

I have no clue why it won't let me make it left-justified! : )

It was awesome for me @Amica, because it was exactly the way I wanted it. However, not necessarily for the attendees.

Mine was (is?) the "so-called arranged" inter-caste marriage. So both sides agreed to perform just the fundamental common Hindu rituals and do away with many "our family customs" to avoid confusion and "sambhandi sandai" (in-laws quarrels) :)

I totally abhor the caste-system and as one who wanted to practice than preach, I told my parents that I would marry only out of caste/religion/citizenship either chosen by me or them. I had more faith in my parents than on me when it came to finding the right person as my husband. Can't explain why, but that was how it was and it worked.

Therefore it was a very simple marriage in terms of rituals ... and a lot of fodder for the tongue-wagging. :)

Best wedding - mine. Mine was love cum arranged marriage. So all of friends and husband's friends , made it to attend.
My husband's friends & male cousins wore red shirt and my friends and my cousins wore green matching my kanjeevaram.
    1) For garland exchange my mamas carried me. Felt child again. My mamas cried thinking my childhood. Emotional.
    2) my reception dress was custom made and everyone appreciated
    3) in the marriage hall name board, the contractor displayed my grandma name as mine ( which was the card with alias) face palm moment.
    4) the unjal palagai we used for my wedding is from ancestral home. 5 th gen wedding ! Again emotional moment.
    5) my parents made sure it was eco friendly wedding no plastic used. From kitchen to return gift bags.

    Worst - Funny
Recently my youngest cousin got married, when the priest told pour ghee to the agni.
This IIT educated idiot , poured water as both ghee n water were placed in similar cups.
What a show, all his friends were literally ROFL, we all youngsters joined and laughing.
One stern look from all elders put us off.still giggling. Later started the agni.priest said never seen such family, some laughing some tensed.
After wedding no one talked about bride or every one was talking about bridegroom.
Since he is the final one to get married, I think the story would travel for next 25 yrs atleast.
