@shravs3 interesting question. I think the answer would depend on if you believe in destiny or not. I have conflicting opinion about this. How would you know what the destiny is? We didnt come with a manual to tell us what our future should look like. Anything that happens to us is technically destiny.
No you cannot change destiny. But it really helps to go with the flow. We can hope for the best but god has his own plans.

@Amulet This is very logical, something which I have never heard before....thank you for sharing the info I am not really sure if it is followed strictly these days. good one. when I have toiled so much in the current birth to get this AR....let me materialize it in the current birth itself...when I have the potential to earn in the CB I will definitely put my potential in the next birth provided "I have the next life" I guess you might now say if I don't have the next life I would be blessed to materialize it in the current life. Also this would give a full stop to the unwanted comparison (I mean if there is no credit and bf opportunities) and J feel b/w my fellow beings...what did he/she do to get such good life? When something good happen to us effortlessly we call it 'luck' when we make efforts and see result we call it 'hardwork',when nothing goes right or as planned we call it 'destiny.' Can you change your destiny? Very well yes- yet its subjective.
@shravs3, I went to Hindu religious school, praying was part of hourly activity and there was a weekly Friday Bajan at the end, followed by Swamij's speech. Still, the habit of praying sticks with me many times during the day. It became a discipline and it does have that calming affect. Does it change the fate, karma? I don't think so, we are born with per written destiny. For sure, it gives that patience, tolerance, calming effect to move on as if someone is watching over / holding my hands. There were times when the circumstances didn't go well as expected, it gives me the strength to accept the fact, and move on. I strongly believe in even to pray / think of Him in time of need, you need His help.
