    Hi,
I have a severe hair fall for about an year. I tried many home remedies and nothing worked out..I lost 3/4th of my hair and it looks very thin now. I had checked my thyroid, vit D,vit B12 levels. Vitamin levels are low and doctor prescribed me the supplements.
Dr told that change of water or shampoo change could be the reason for the hair fall. I used a filter in my shower to reduce chlorine content.
I am still losing so much of hair everyday. Whenever I touch my hairs with hands, i lose so much hair strands. Also in the morning, after i wake up,i see so many hairs out and many will be there on my pillow, clothes. It just drop off with root. I really don't wanna go bald. Its so scary to think about it..
I have checked my iron levels too. It was normal. Is it something related to irregular periods? Anyone faced hair fall issue? How did you overcome? Please help me with your inputs.
I am planning to consult a dermatologist soon.
    Thank you.

Yes I do feel it’s due to hormonal imbalance which causes irregular periods , hair fall, weight gain etc.

I’m also facing hair fall after coming to US. I was facing in India too but now increased . My Vit D levels are way too less and I was even prescribed for the same.
I even installed shower filter but no luck :unamused:

Thank you so much for your reply.
Is ur hair fall at a normal level? I lose a lot of hair everyday. Around 200 to 250 hairs strands..Though I have cut my hair to a short bob cut now.
Do you see any change after taking the vitamin d supplement?

I have also faced similar situation when I came here. I think it is due to change in weather and living conditions. I think the humility is low here. Also the room temperature is controlled. I had more hair on the floor than on my head. I thought I got some disease. Later it became ok. Still i didn't get back to original thickness and volume.
Please make sure scalp is not dry. If you use shampoo, make sure to check the contents. If it contains sodium laureate sulphate, please dont use it. It can favor hair fall. Example : head and shoulders. All hair on head will fall on shoulders if we continue to use it. Use mild shampoo for daily use. Also make sure to use good conditioner. Try oil massage every week using natural oils like coconut oil. Reduce the use of hair dryer. Take supplimements like doctor suggested. Make sure you dont have any health conditions that favor hairfall.

Thank you so much for your reply. Appreciate it.
Yeah..I will use some mild shampoo.
Did you check with any doctor? Or does it stop on its own for you?
I am not sure right now that it's because of vitamin deficiency or any health conditions favoring hair fall. I am planning to consult a dermatologist..

If you are really worried please consult doctor. Sometimes vitamine deficiency especially D, anemic conditions, thyroid issues etc can elevate hair fall. Taking some multivitamin may help if it's due to any other deficiency. Hope you get better.
