actually the court dsnt give judgement for common public... this was a judgement given in a particular case where the daughter in law was harassing mother in law and husband (very rare in this forum:hmmm::hmmm::biggrin::biggrin:)
so its for those people who r getting harassed by daughter in laws . there was a particular case quoted where the daughter in law was threatening the in laws to get them arrested in false dowry case.
of course , as all other laws , this law can also be misused by husbands. but the safeguard of such people is also necessary.

If in-laws trouble daughter in law then? If she complaints then instead of getting solution or a chance to lead a good life with her husband, she may get divorce from him.

Handling and maintaining successful relationship doesn't need any law to be initiated....it all depends on an individual's maturity and exposure to the outer world.

Need to rethink on this law...there would surely be a misuse of this law. Dowry complaints may clash with this and remain unsolved for ever

The courts tried to protect women with the dowry prohibition act. Dowry system continues because girl's family was willing partner in the crime. There are girls family who flaunt dowry indirectly. There were so many people falsely arrested for taking dowry, some who lived abroad. Sadly, like everything else laws do get abused.

So many silently suffering in-laws from their DIL/son hide their situation in shame is simply overlooked.

At the same time I have heard loving ILs. Some DILs appreciate and there are other DILs feel "why are they acting like my parents? I have my parents."

It reflects FIL's insecurity and fear. Best way to to solve it in the initial stage is not confronting, rather you can reassure them by your actions that you care and they have nothing to fear. Communicate with them, get to know them and build a relationship with them.

That is why educate your daughters, and make them self sufficient. It is their life; let them find their own partners. Whether it works or not, at least the choice was theirs. They can set rules before marriage. Don't meddle in grown children's lives.

Educate your sons as well. Let them find their partners. Dowry system will also get less.
Dont meddle in grown sons life.

you can expect change in the society when everyone takes responsibility for the transformation. It may take a while, but, you need to start somewhere. It doesn't do any good to point out ills of the society/blame the situation.
