LOL, nice memories. @Greenbay, I agree, memories may not be exact. For instance, the first colour that came to mind when I saw that pinafore was a purplish grey - was not sure whether it was purple or grey. I was told it was a dark grey. Wonder whether that was to do with perception or lack of ability to differentiate colours or 'coloured' memory. But no, no one had spoken of this dress in all these years nor did I remember it until suddenly noticed it today - although I have seen that pic many times in the past.

Geeta, yes, there is plenty being discussed about even past life memories and one theory goes that those memories could be gleaned from talk which is heard and recorded somewhere in the memory. The brain then plays around with the blocks and creates a picture. Amazing actually. Wonder if and when we will really know what happens and how.

Thanks for mentioning that film. I certainly need to see it!

Ouch, that couldn't be a very pleasant memory. I don't remember, but I was told that I went off with my neighbours and got my ears pierced when I was around 3 or 4!!! Maybe my brain has happily blanked out that memory.

Anika, that must be so painful. I have a few such memories which has taken years of careful working on to get rid off. I still remember the events but they don't haunt me the way did many years ago. I am able to look upon them dispassionately while still feeling sad for that little girl inside me.

It is interesting to know how such events affect people. Adults conveniently assume that kids 'forget' easily and don't think twice before 'disciplining' them harshly - at least they did not those days.

:) Well, you certainly had developed a sense of beauty pretty early on in life!

Haha, I remember my mom telling us how our neighbour's little daughter (she was just as curious as I was about everything around her and a little busy body!) once mixed a plate full of roasted rava and boiled milk which my mom had left in the kitchen. Her mom and mine were chatting outside and this little one sneaked into the kitchen and did the deed. What was to be done? Everyone had shira (rava kesari) that day! :mask:

That was terrible! Thank God my mom did not accede to my demand to grow out my hair when I was a kid! Of course I also went to an all girls' school!

Satchi, Drishyam is one very interesting movie and I highly recommend this movie for all. I am told the Malayalam originals has Mohanlal. Surprisingly, the Kannada version with Ravichandran was also very good. Hindi version had Ajay Devgn but I have no idea how good it was.

Past life memories are unbelievable but they are so true & fascinating. Very few people have it.

Geeta, I really dig past life memories. However, there is a catch. I suppose in smaller places, where there are not many changes, it would be easier to trace back a street, area or house that a person describes. What happens in places like the cities of India where everything has changed so much and people are so mobile? It would be next to impossible to trace back any memories. Not to mention lack of or lack of access to any credible public records. However, wherever the conditions are different from the ones I have mentioned, many events have been traced back. No, I can't remember anything, though I often wished I could. Maybe it is better so - especially when memories within one life time can disturb so much!!! Who needs so many complications!!!

It's so sweet and gives a kind of happiness when I read all these childhood memories. Even I do have a lot. But very recently I missed one such thing in my life when I boarded the flight to US.

It was the night time we all members of the family sit together outside during power cut. I always used to sit on my dad's lap. Me and my cousin sis used to fight for that. Dad used to explain about stars... He used to show the mark when a flight pass by etc. It was a routine. On that particular night my puppa(dad's elder brother) was carrying my youngest cousin on his lap who was asleep. So once the power came without waking him pappa carried inside home to the bed. After seeing that I also wanted to be pampered so...
Immediately the next night when I was on my dad's lap and I pretend to be asleep. My dad also did the same to me he carried me to the bed . I was really happy.:smiley: But once he laid me on bed he gave me a knock on my head and said don't act too much jealousy girl ;)and then gave me a peck on my cheeks....
An unforgettable moment. When I travelled in flight for the first time. . I did not get that excitement of seeing the flight while sitting on my dad's lap.
