From Computer To Mobile

    I myself cant believe that from Computer using I have come to mobile using . After I took VRS in 2002 after working for 36 years in Mumbai and 2 years in Hyderabad I used to think how I am going to pass my time at home since I had always been busy going to office and spending the whole day. Luckily in our office also they introduced Computer and I learnt to use Computer and as I was doing Bank Reconciliation that time I had to learn how to do through computer . Thanks to my office through whom I learnt computer and to my children who taught me other things like yahoo messenger , facebook etc.

    My son had bought a computer for himself but after he started going to office I got the opportunity to use Computer. After my daughters got married I used to chat with them through yahoo messenger. First thing when I log in I used to log in to Yahoo messenger and then see the mails. In 2007 I joined IL through my daughter and from that time I got addicted to IL and not a day used to go without logging in to IL. I had started Coffee Mornings, How are you threads and through that got many friends. Later many became my daughters and I became Vijima. Now even the new comers call me Vijima.

    Now coming to the heading . Till 2014 I used to use Computer and thought I wont be used to Laptop. In 2014 my son bought me Laptop and I started using Laptop and stopped using Computer. Since the computer used to occupy whole table I thought Laptop is better and got accustomed to it. Then my children bought me the latest mobiles and of late I use mobiles only to see the net . I use the laptop only to type any new thread in IL or to nominate a thread. Then I got net through mobile too so most of the time I use mobile only to see the net. After Whatsapp was introduced I chat with my children through whatsapp or facebook. How things have changed. Once I was very much addicted to IL and if net was not available I used ot go to the cafe but now not so much.

    Hi viji maami,
    great that you have adopted so well to the latest technology. Personally, i'm still comfortable with my desktop PC only for commnicating whether it is email or skype etc. Although I have a smart phone, I use it only for calls and skype/whatsapp. All other communication and banking works, I still prefer the PC only.

    Yes vijima thanks to the technology and the brains behind it..now life has become easy for all.. the mobile is not only handy but we can also do many things on the go.. Especially with so many apps around we can pay bills, recharge our phone, listen to music, watch movies, play games, theost is endless.. The best thing I like us the camera in the mobile when previously we need to take a camera now it's so easy ..

    :hello:Do as Romans do when you are in Rome. Thus goes the saying. Those who tend to remain stubbornly gripped with old inefficient ways are tend yo lag behind cursing the technology and their inventors. You have wisely invested your time and daily you had a dedicated hours and thus you gained envious practices and skills and that has brought you to Indusladies. Kudos to your grit determination and tenacity in learning anything new or skills..
    2. During my entire of official years, I never got to learn or opportunity to learn and adopt to working with a computer. Only once I handled a borrowed mobile when call per minute was charged around Rs. 10.
    3. After retirement, I bought a desktop and gathered the acumen little by little and then I picked up entire MS Office, internet etc in about 3 months.
    4. Afterwards it is no turning back. You got grip of the usage and with imagination you conquer newer realms.
    5. When my son bought me a smartphone recently, I got to learn and pick up the thread fast learnt its nitty gritty of it on a jiffy.
    6. I am amazed too see in shopping areas ordinary fruit and vegetable vendors and other hawkers using the smartphone at ease. They happily use Tamil keys for sending messages and storing phone numbers. My domestic help too carry smartphone.
    7. World is changing fast and so too the obsolescence rate, I am sure in few years this convergence of computer telephone Radio would become obsolate
    8. From Hieroglyphics to palm leavesto balapam (slate pencil) to lead pencil to fountain pen to ballpen to joy stick to.....
    OMG incredible advancements in few generations
