Its been 10 mons since my baby was born. I have lost hardly 4 to 5kg. And still nearly 10 to 12kg more to lose. I was on bed rest during pregnancy so built up a lot of weight. I can't gym or go walking as I take care of my baby all alone. Hubby goes to office early and comes late. So can't leave baby with him to workout. I still have weight near tummy making me look like as if am still pregnant and also too much weight in my thighs. I went from M sized dresses to XL sometimes even XXL in certain brands which is making me more depressed. How did you all lose your weight and still take care of your babies. And am still breastfeeding him.

Technically I am not qualified to answer this cos I am not a mother ...yet ! But I did lose 12 kgs in 1 year recently.

But first congratulations on having your own little family. Some or even a lot of pregnancy fat in your thighs doesnt compare to having the priceless joy of being a mom, having a healthy baby and having a family. It is not empty words. Please realize that. So turn that depressed look into a smile. And always realize that you have enough reasons to be joyful. Thats step one.

Next - please hire a dietician who will put together a personalized diet plan for you, esp as a new mom, to achieve your weight loss goals.

Next step for weight loss is physical activity. You could just hire a trainer like some of my friends did who are new moms..or you could take it step by step...i.e walk vigorously for atleast 30 mins daily along with above mentioned diet.

Continue to breastfeed cos it also is known to aid weight loss.

Lastly do not ever feel bad about your body. It has not let you down ! It gave you a healthy baby and building up fat stores is a part of the process. So dont hate your look in the mirror and end up stress eating. Instead smile and admire the miracle that is your body and make sure you dont let it down by binge eating. Goodluck.

Congratulations.!! You are blessed to have a healthy baby..
Take your baby out to the park on walk. Sway sideways if possible while putting the baby to sleep. Walk and hug your baby. Try to play some games with your baby like jump as you say alphabets or numbers. You can teach your baby while you exercise. These can help you bond with your baby while you take care of yourself. Most important, don't get stressed. Stress is sonetsome known to increase weight. Take care. Good luck with your weight loss.

You can do yoga at home and kapalbharti is very effective for reducing tummy. Eat little food at regular intervals drink lots of water and take light dinner atleast before 2 hours of sleeping.

Will, dedication n the mental strength is the biggest requirement here. I have gone through the same as well.

Food - stop buying any junk food strictly
reduce the amount of salt, sugar, oil a lot.
Eat home made healthy food, no fried food.
Less rice or brown rice with Loads of veg n fruits
    water - hydration is important
    Weekly once indulge.
    Have meals on time.
    Reduce outside food.

Exercise - play with the baby. Take the baby for walks. There are yoga, dance, exercises to do along with the baby. So look for things that you can do together with the baby.

These are like the basic / beginners but important n good steps. You will start to see the difference once you start to do some of these, you can just build on from there as you progress.
