    In usa hope you are aware of early intervention for kids. Its free and sponsored by the county. It will provide therapies to help with speech issues and social-emotional issues and self regulation. My child is high functioning autism spectrum and i am seeing tremendous improvement in her. Also pls get bloodwork done to rule out deficits like vitamin d etc. we are giving balanced essentials multivitamin which also seems to help.

    Op, Congrats on your son trying to express. You need to establish some kind of discipline in home for him to listen to you. My son is also having speech delay.My husband rarely scolds him so son tries to get away with mischief. But I do a little bit of disciplining with him. I firmly hold him and tell him in a loud tone to not do it. He repeats it inspite of 2-3 times telling, I keep repeating until he stops doing it. So now its stuck in his mind that mom will get angry and scold him. I also tell his class teacher to repeat the same process in school , so in school she does it and me at home.All in all son is surrounded by same process. It works.

    You need to try this method. Keep telling son firmly that he needs to stop. Keep on repeating like a broken record. Then tell the teacher to repeat the same method for any mischief he does at school. In a few weeks son will modify his behavior accordingly. Good Luck.

    @amchennai
    Reading the above post, reminds me of my son 2-3 months ago. He is also 3 years and 10 months old and has speech delay. We had evaluation recently with same result as yours (will create another post) .
    Coming to pushing other kids, its happens as they are a not able to communicate properly. Do talk to him and tell him not to do that. It he is in Daycare talk to teacher and follow same thing at home.

    I used to tell my son daily "Don't push other kids, if any kids are bothering you tell the me or teacher." Also see if there are other kids doing it, if so try to separate them.

    Just talk talk and talk that's what helps.

    @swiss My kid was also diagnosed with High functioning autism when he was 2.5 yrs old in US now he is 5 years going to Senior kg class in India. he is doing great in academics no concerns from his class teacher, he behaves well obey teachers commands, loves to play with his classmates, friends and follow routine. BUT my concern is still he is low in social skills, he does not initiate talk while playing with friends, he does not watch any movie only kids related cartoons, i feel he is missing out a lot of non verbal social cues.
    Can you give me some ideas or tips to help my kid progress in social skill and communication. he is not getting any therapy for the past 3 yrs as all the therapy centers are too far from where i live.

    @Hosanna i kid is 6 now. We are not much worried about academics but sometimes i do see a lack of focus. Social skills are a challenge for us too. She is social but will only talk her favorite topics. She wont listen whst other person is trying to say. We are trying for some social skills group in summer. So not much suggestions for you.. we are also in same in boat.

    autism cannot be diagnosed easily, I have a 5-year-old son with autism and this diagnosis took 1 year. We were with a lot of tests and different doctors, therapists for a year and it was a really difficult process for us.Now we continue to special education and speech therapy, he is very interesteed in some online games and I think it is beneficial to its development. Especially we use the otsimo application every day so that he learned some numbers and colors.I would like to share the app's website with you Otsimo | Special Education for Special Children | Autism, Down Syndrome …. I hope it helps in your baby :)
