Met A Clueless Person At The Dr's

    This morning , I was waiting for my RE appointment , a fellow desi started a conversation with me.
    It was stupid of me to respond , but I thought it might be another person needing support/comfort knowing there are others out there going thru the same thing... She was clueless/mannerless/insentive... I dont think she meant harm, but was just oblivious....

    • 'If I dont get the results I want , I will go to another place' : Sure , its as simple as shopping at a different store
    • She rolls her eyes and says 'Is he running late?' it was 10 minutes after my appointment time and hers was 15 minutes after mine:confused:
    • 'Did you try IVF , did it not work' : It worked, I just thought this is too much fun to stop. So I aborted and came back here:buenrollo:
    • 'What protocol did they try , Day3/Day5' : At this point I was done.. I said , I would rather not discuss my treatment with you.:grazy:
    What can I say - people never cease to amaze you , I guess :p

    OP, If this a vent, I feel for you and understand.

    But, going through your quotes of her, she sounds more like a noob trying to make small talk with you and trying to understand the process, the new Dr, the strategies used by Doc and what worked & what not.. Possibly not a very tactful, smart talker.. Also, she is obviously TTC herself, hence there, so definitely not trying to put you off or anything.. I wouldn't read too much into this or be upset..

    Nah - not upset. But she definitely put me off.
    I guess everyone can work on their communication skills - some are ahead and some are behind - waaay behind.
    I was just surprised that someone who seemed dressed well , was living in a western country and not from an older generation can be this tactless

    haha, @Meghaa I feel felt like a conversation with my teen kid.

    I guess what put you off is this brash attitude:
    I dont really know much but no problem, there is google , I am smart and so I know everything.
    They genuinely think that.

    And they are often so self involved that they fail to respect other people's boundaries.

    Most of us overcome this in teens and early adulthood , she is perhaps lagging behind ...

    lol .. if it was some other topic , I might have continued the conversation with this person..just to see what else she would say... It was like a contest of you cannot speak a sentence without a gaffe and she was rocking it
