My elderly father (70-something) has thick, slightly yellow toenail on left foot.

    Noticed for past few weeks

What are some aryuvedic treatments we can try at home before going to Dr. who may overprescribe something (sometimes medications have their own side effects).

Note: Around the same time my Dad had dental pains on upper-left mouth, upper-left wisdom tooth was extracted, yet dental pains still persist. Also, my Dad had hives was was prescribed antibiotics. No longer taking antibiotics.

Unsure if these incidents are related.

It could be a toenail fungus. It would be best to see a doctor.

CE could try the webMDdotcom site. CE can input the symptoms, and see a list of possibilities. And then try out something that is easy, as well as harmless.

It appears to be a fungal infection of the toenail. See your doctor at the earliest and get it treated. The incidents you mentioned may not be related at all. Relax.

I personally don't know any solution and don't even go to ayurveda but I watch the episodes of jeeva ayurveda and feel the trust on it. I also suggested that in other similar posts too. If anyone can follow them then its the most beneficial treatment. You can call jeeva ayurveda at 0120-4040404 or visit their centre located at various places.

Not scary, but if it is a fungal infection it will need to be treated with medication. If not you can try other remedies. So it's best to ask a doctor or you can even go to a minute clinic/urgent care. An NP should be able to diagnose this.
