Gouri...good luck with your scan. Don't worry about weight and food. Try to eat healthy..sometimes its ok to have junk food to satisfy cravings.

Hi Gouri.. I am doing good. Feeling less nauseous since 3-4 days. But extremely tired and hungry. Every 2 hours I am eating something, same like you. Even at 3 or 4 am I get hungry, but not taking anything since I am hypothyroid and have to take morning tablet in empty stomach.. I don't know how to handle this hunger :-( and I have always been a picky eater

piky2cute...is your doctor crazy? Please take a second opinion. I have gestational diabetes too. I failed my GTT but this test was done in 3rd trimester and I have been asked to monitor my levels by diet. Some levels are good and some are high. I think they will put me on insulin tomorrow. You should get a second opinion.

Pinky2cute pls take 2nd and third opinion as well..my relative suffered from gestational diabetes during both her pregnancies, but with proper medical care and intake of proper dosage of insulin ( injectable) and proper diet restriction she delivered healthy and normal babies both the times..go to an experienced gynaecologist who has experience in high risk cases.

I cut vegetables and help around in kitchen while my DH prepares food nowadays. My mom lives in a different city, but comes to take care of me whenever possible. My DH is looking forward to her visits more than me ;-) I take cut fruits and veggies to office, but still end up eating additionally at the canteen... How do you manage... Any help at home?

    Hi pinky
Hi pinky2cute I am so shocked reading your post. But please don't loose hope. Seek second opinion. My prayers are with you. My friend had gd from first trimester onwards. But she was able to mange it with food control and continuous monitoring of sugar level. She delivered baby prematurely but still baby is totally healthy. I hope you will also get a healthy baby.

@pinky2cute looks like there are many cases with early gd and it is okay to continue pregnancy ..that being said every pregnancy is different so please check with doctors.

@madhu67 wow you are so lucky your husband cooks for you. My hubby just helps in taking care of DS when i cook thats it..sometimes cuts veggies if i insist..i have to lit nag for getting tht work done so its irritating to ask him for anything..right now in laws are with me so she cooks curry and sambar in the afternoon and i make roties..no breakfast..My FIL never demands anthing ..so MIL never makes it..i will be in hurry to work and wont make it too...i used to have cereal for BF before now i just eat yday leftover..i cant complain...my in laws takes cares of my 2 year old ..many wont even get that help..so i am Ok i guess.. and for me pregnancy is not that hard as my side effects are bearable ..struggle starts when baby comes out...most challenging is full time feeding with work and this time with toddler it scares me to hell :tired::confundio1: we get only 2 months maternity leaves in US
