Hi Subashini - I see that you have not received any replies to your query. I am not from Chennai - so I wont be able to answer your question. Let us see for a few more days and we can try posting a query in the Chennai forum.

    Hi Suhasini,

First would like to know if you are asking what are the courses that can be done when you are a commerce student. Since my daughter (who is in 7th) also wants to do the same I have been collecting details. My husband is a ACA and ACWA, will ask him to give more detailed info.

    But the basic is..
    He can do CA, ICWA,ACS.

he can already get himself enrolled for the foundation courses for CA and ACS. and the course details can be got for CA and ACS both can be taken from the website
ICAI and The Institute of Company Secretaries of India > Home all the details are in the students corner.

If you want more details about ICWA and ACS aslo will provide the.

    Hello Ladies,

I am Vidhya. I am a science student I don't have much knowledge on commerce course. My sister, commerce student, is completing her 12th std exams in 2018. Please let me know about the following :

    1. List of ICWA,CS,CA other similar courses?
    2. I have little knowledge about ICWA so how to proceed with ICWA course after 12th std. Suggest some best coaching centers for ICWA in Chennai. Is it possible to study ICWA with a parallel college course?
    3. What are the career opportunities after MA/MSC Economics in Anna University?

    Thanks in advance

Of all mentioned CA is the most difficult but most remunerative. Here's the website for more info
ICAI - The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India

I am really not sure if ICWA is worth pursuing. To be honest, Masters and ICWA don't command much value in terms of landing good / high paying jobs. But Masters can be useful if you end up in foreign country like US, where 12+4 is a requirement for lot of degrees including CPA. Go for a CA or MBA from reputed institute if CA may be tough for her. Not worth doing ICWA at all.

Thank you Naari, What about CS?
BBA MBA is a good option?

I came across Great Lakes Institute Seems to be a good option for MBA. Any suggestions other than IIM.

Currently she is scoring 85-90 % in all subjects. I expect atleast 90% in her 12th final exams.

Can anyone also list me the law courses? Is govt law college a best one to pursue?

CS again not worthy. MBA from SP Jain, JBIMS, Symbiosis, NMIMS shd be good..

The scores you mention sound really good.. if she is someone who normally studies by focusing on fundamentals & understanding the logic behind everything, CA might be right for her too. It's good to have good college scores, but I would go more by study styles than by scores. It may not be for ppl who believe in memorizing .. just my guide , your sister I am sure is really smart!

mother of a 22 yr grad; and almost there triplet.(21/2 done) Yes the very same who said my daughter aspires to be one and is in 7th I a post above. Time flies.

Talk to your sister and find out what really interests her more. Accounts, costing or laws.

There are many depending on interests. There are integrated courses with b.com and llb in few colleges
There are mba in assurance. MBA risk management.a mba has to be from a reputed institute to hold weightage

Yes it is possible to do ACS/ICWA/CA while doing your college and I strongly recommend it. Seeing the 2% and .02% pass sometimes it is better you always have a graduation to fall back or to try that cat or any other courses. The normalisations and standardisations applies test the patience of kids who are pursuing these. I know of people who have not cleared a single group in many attempts.

My dd did two of her courses along with graduation. Though one of the above three does not permit you to do 3 simultaneously as a student of that institute.

If she is preparing for icwa she can write her foundation in may if she is willing to do it immediately after her 12th.you can register for it now I think. However go through the institute requirements which may change. The cma foundations helps you to regd for acs executive parallelly.

Of all the three icwa is tough, but the icai body is stronger hence the limelight is on it. ICWA or acs are not a waste they carry their weightage. A last year icma rank holder got a good job with a great perk.again whether it is CA/icma/acs it is more than just passing the exams.your pratical training and applications matters a lot

If she wants to do cost and management accountants(icwa is icma) and do cima uk, which is just writing one paper of strategic management after clearing her finals of icma. She will get her CMA membership from us institute of management accountants if she applies with her icma membeship. There are mous with various accounTing bodies around the world be it CA/icma.
It all boils down to focus and passion and interest.
There are many coaching institutes.while the respective icwa\icai chapters have classes too

I would suggest you ask her to really go through the various avenues available thoroughly.
you can sit for upsc exams. Add a course on stock markets or a training in a firm that is into trading the options open up.

    All the best.
