    Hi all,
I moved to US last year and my hair fall is very severe for past few months.. I lost most of my hair and my hair looks very very thin now.. The water is very hard here and am planning to use some water filters for shower head.
Please suggest some good water filters..and also share your experience after using the water filters... Can you see any difference in the hair growth?
    Thanks..

I bought 2 different showed and also installed a water softener system but nothing helps. I don't see any major difference and my hair fall is the same. Hundreds of hair come out daily and I find so much hair on the floor daily. None of the shampoos, conditioners, hair treatment helps. I am losing so much hair too. I feel like my hair is amost 25% of what it uses to be in India.

Where in the US are you? I'm in NJ.

Also most people think it's thyroid/medical related issue but it's not. It's 100% water/weather that's causing the hair fall.

    OP,
I have also faced similar situation when in USA. It may be due to change in water temperature and environmental changes.

Try to use water at room temperature to wash hair. If we use warm water, it may increase hair fall. Also watch shampoos. Don't use shampoo that contain SLS ( sodium lauryl sulphate, most brands had it ). Use mild shampoos for daily use.

I have really tried soooooo many things and nothing has helped. I tried 2 different brands of water filter but it did not help. I tried the curry leaves in Ayurvedic oil as well that didn't help either.

I don't know about Indian women in GA, but when I am out in NYC and NJ, I see this same hair loss in sooooooo many Indian women. So I know it's the water/environment doing it. I haven't been to India in a while, but I don't think you see this much hair loss in Indian women in India.

I didn't try any remedies. As I said, I was also scared because of hair fall. I had very long and thick hair that time . Hair was every where. I thought I have some disease . Later only I realised the change in environment like temperature, humidity etc as main factors..
I suggest you not to use shampoo every day.. My dh's found good improvement after stopping SLS Shampoo. Also make sure to use good conditioner. Apply oil once in a week. Make sure scalp is not too dry.
Use natural products as much as you can.try indian mild shampoos or baby shampoos for daily use..it may help

@Acctgirl83 ..yes,Indian women in GA also lose so much hair..many of them..i think its bcos of water..
Indian women in India definitely don't lose much hair..i was in India till last year and there is not such a huge hair fall.. Even my friends(in India) who said that they have hair fall seems to be losing a very less hair when compared to us..
I will change my shampoo n check..have to try diff remedies..let's hope we ll recover from this soon..
