I am talking about a woman in epic who intrigued me due to her boldness, self confidence, wisdom . I am talking about Draupadi , the character in Mahabaratha. She was an epitome of self respect, who was not scared to face the situation where she was not respected. She stood for herself and believed in her prayers and strongly believed in God. No one supported her in her bad day , not even her husbands ,not even elders. She was saved by God.But her boldness made her take revenge on disrespect shown to her. A bold woman indeed.

She was quite a catalyst in creating some problems herself. She was a bit too proud of herself and didn't refrain from mocking kauravas from time to time .

Little proud is fine but yes she should not have mocked (laughed)at Duryodahana when he fell down in their palace. But I think later she did face her challenges herself . she didn't get into self pity mode.

Duryodhana was just one of them . She was quite contemptuous with many . And she didn't face her challenges herself. She knew how to play her cards and manipulated the pandavas especially Bheema to fight for her .

I was also thinking on these lines few days back. The Pandavas had God Krishna with them. HE was more like a friend to Draupati and had helped her in so many instances ( In the court, Going as a messenger for Pandavas, At the battle safeguarding Arjuna, Indirectly killing Karna to save Arjuna etc.).

I thought that the proverb "When God is for us, who can be against us" was well applicable to Pandavas as only with God Krishna's support, they were able to win the vast and mighty Kaurava army. So all was good at the end.

She was indeed lucky to get 5 husbands who are not only good and stood by Dharma, but also handsome and brave. They supported her cause, felt remorseful for not able to help her and fought for her. There are so many women who achieve things all by themselves without even a little support from husband.
