    Om namah shivay!

I want to write about the miracles my husband and I are witnessing: Lord Shiva’s blessings in our life. Please tell me what do you think about our story... Would you like to share also the blessings you received?
It’s been such an intense journey, it’s hard to know where to start.

My husband and I have been receiving so many blessings the last few months that I wish to, that I need to share my love for Shivji, my immense gratitude with you all.

It starts first with a little background info about my husband.
My husband is half Indian, half European raised in New York. He is a singer songwriter, film maker, producer, composer of a genius level. Literally very very high IQ.

His father is from Lucknow (UP) and his mother from Europe.
While growing up he first had a really hard time with his Indian heritage for two reasons. The first one was that his father was a very very abusive man, the second was that he grew up knowing mostly the muslim side of India, in an abusive household. He never identified with islam cause abrahamic religions didn’t make sense to him and never practiced any of it... which he paid heavily for, being severely beaten by his father and rejected by his entire family.
Because of this and growing up in America he, at first, wanted nothing to do with India and preferred seeing himself as white American even though he was biracial. He came out looking white (could easily pass for Italian) so it was “easy” for him to deny his origins…

But one cannot deny one’s heritage forever and through the food he missed so much (of course, indian food is such a blessing already ;)), he started little by little integrating Mother India again in his life.
That’s when we met, we fell in love, we married in the western tradition, and little by little India took more and more importance in our life.
I did my best to encourage that self acceptance and growing pride he found in being Indian. I learned how to cook Indian food after him, which I now am passionate about...

We rediscovered the Indian way, the real way, Sanatan Dharma and we both felt so much recognition and love in it, so much oneness, we became immersed in meditation.
We fell in love all over again and embraced fully Lord Shiva and his Shakti, we redefined our love and marriage through the knowledge we were gaining...
My husband became more and more wise and strong, he became my guru. He started meditating on the name of Shiva, constantly invoking his name, recognizing the divine within ourselves, we started leading our life with the light of Shiva’s divine fire, the Om before creation and after destruction was chanted constantly in our household…

At the time when this transformation occurred my husband was writing an album, which was like his own psycho-analysis transcribed to music. His album was transformed too, it became about his Shiva meditation, his ego destruction and the music became filled with the name of Shiva and holy chants. It turned from simple Rock N’ Roll music to spiritual bhajans or kirtans.

In one specific song that talks about his childhood pains and finding his way back to Sanatan Dharma the lyrics go “Can I get a Neem Karoli bachcha, Maharaj-ji enlighten me, I want to believe I’ve got to believe in me” all the while chanting Shiva’s name…
Little did we know, very bolenath, that beyond modern medicine we would be blessed with a literal answer to that prayer. My husband simply meant (in reference to Maharaj-ji, Neem Karoli Baba with the pun bachcha), that he one day wished he could have a child that is “enlightened”, bt which he meant "happier", "more stable" than he was (because of his childhood pains, the rift caused by the partition of India, the biracial and religious issues he had to face)...
He meant one day… But a month later, while I was on the pill (because of hormonal imbalances due to a previous miscarriage), we became pregnant. A true miracle!!! I was taking the pill absolutely regularly, without fault which means this was impossible to happen at 99.9 percent ! Or even if I hadn’t been taking it so punctually it was still 97 percent impossible.
Om namah shivay! Om namah shivay! Om namah shivay!

But that’s not even over. Dates throughout the pregnancy match hindu calendar dates relating to Shiva… Many more blessings were given to us following this, amongst them, my husband indian muslim family greeting us with Namaskar on the phone yesterday after more than 3 years of silence.
My father in law, once so violent against my husband and so intolerant when it came to religious differences said NAMASKAR to my husband and me as a response to our great news (we had no contact until yesterday so they didn’t know about our miracle child)…
The young ones in our family, intrigued by our decision to move back to India soon after our baby is born, intrigued by the miracle, asking us about Sanatan Dharma… Maybe we will see them come back to the Indian way…

Who knows this is so much I couldn’t keep it for myself any longer. What do you think?
Om namah shivay! Om namah shivay! Om namah shivay!

    @iyerviji
Thank you so much! Thank you for taking the time to read our story and reply with love. :)

I'm doing great thank you for asking. I feel for you having to wait... I remember how it feels, after my miscarriage I was so depressed I had "false pregnancies" almost every month meaning I had all the symptoms and believed I was pregnant to the point that my husband was truly worried for my mental state. But we persevered in our faith, I lost patience too many times. I will think of you when I do my poojas, I know the Lord loves you and listens. Faith can indeed move mountains. Om namah shivay! Jai Neem Karoli Baba!
If you ever need to talk about your desire to be a mother and your pains in waiting, or anything else, don't hesitate to message me. I'd love to lend a friendly ear.

Thank you so much for your message, it really really means a lot that our story had this impact. Thank you so much! It's wonderful to be able to share my faith with you all. Om namah shivay!
